Not only am I excited to feature on Isabel Clark’s LinkedIn live soon but I am delighted that Isabel has agreed to deliver one or more workshops to my Young Entrepreneur Start-Ups monthly membership (The Hub) teaching our young entrepreneurs about financial literacy and good money management among other money related topics. I want to equip our young people with the skills they don’t learn in school. The skills they need to succeed and prosper in business and life. I just love Isabel’s ethos and energy. It’s going to be fab. I wonder what ideas for workshops you can suggest for my Young Entrepreneurs? What skills do you wish you learned as a teen that have been absolutely invaluable in your business journey? #youngentrepreneurs

(Secret.) I made a rule for myself on LinkedIn about a year ago. I was only going to post when I had something useful to say. I've had a few people asking me over the last few months how I come up with my content. The reality is I don't think about it much. I share intel, insights, and lessons learned when it comes up. That way people in my field, or people who are working on the same problems can benefit. I definitely had to drop my competitive mindset for an abundance one. When I truly stopped caring what other people thought about me, or if I was "better" or "worse" at my job than they were, I found that I really had an endless stream of interesting things to talk about. Ego in career is a lifelong challenge. Most of the people I know who work in #science, #medicine, #business, or #philanthropy have to constantly check themselves about private feelings of inferiority, competition, or self-aggrandizement. This is irrelevant to their objective status or successes. Although if done successfully it does seem to be directly related to #performance. We all struggle to make meaning of our lives. And a venue like LinkedIn can be incredibly demoralizing when you approach it with a fear of how it affects your intrinsic worth. But I really discovered here, that this network is an incredibly powerful tool for exchanging information about the world and what is actually working in #business, #science, and #technology from an international perspective. Approach it from that mindset and you have a robust network of hard-core active adults tackling global problems in a collective. When I changed my attitude, it truly opened up the world to me.
