Amazon S3: Unlocking the Power of Access Points, Object Lock, Inventory Reports, Access Logging, and Presigned URLs Amazon Simple Storage Service (S3) is a highly durable and scalable object store designed for storing and serving large amounts of data. In this post, we explore a pattern for compacting (or combining) large collections of small files into fewer, larger objects using AWS Step Functions. Compaction offers an alternative to archival-based solutions such as compressing and archiving logs stored in Amazon S3 and Amazon S3 Tar. By compacting many small objects together, they become large enough to exceed the 128 KB file size, resulting in lower management costs. Additionally, ad-hoc query performance is improved, and queries are executed in-place without making changes to existing code or tools. #AWS #AmazonWebServices #AWSBlogs #Cloud #CloudComputing https://lnkd.in/d9wwNYZv

Third good AWS release I read about today - now Cloudfront can do a lot of new things with its logs and in particular deliver them to S3 in flexible and open partitioned Parquet format! #cloud #aws #awscloud #observability #logging https://lnkd.in/dh8MHxtx

As an Oracle database guy, great to see the collaboration between #Oracle and Amazon Web Services (AWS). True, I used to use / manage Oracle Database since 7.3.4, then 8.x, 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c. This is cool for #AWS customers being able to leverage Oracle Database natively within AWS Cloud.
