Real-time, prospective policy analysis (PPA) can be used to inform health policy processes but are rarely documented. A recent study explores the documented examples of PPA in the literature, examining how authors conceptualized PPA, the topics they used it for, and the methods and approaches applied as part of the analysis. By Ligia Paina, Ruth Young, Oyinkansola Oladapo, MSPH, Jose D Leandro, Zhixi Chen, and Takeru Igusa. I enjoyed the session on "Policymaker perspective: How can health policy and systems research (HPSR) have more impact on policy and practice?" by the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research at #hsr2024 As I asked at the session, I am drawn to ask here too to extend the conversation ‼️ As an HPSR researcher, trying to influence policy, how do you ensure your relevance across political regimes without being tagged as an affiliate of a particular political party? ‼️ Prof Adnan Hyder Health Systems Global #healthpolicy #policyanalysis #HPA #healthsystem #researchers #policymakers #policyimplementers #globalhealth

"Economic assessments must apply both theory and data-rooted techniques to address health disparities." (S. Subramanian et al). I am enjoying seeing this important work presented at ISPOR 2024 by Sujha Subramanian and Implenomics, Poster EE98. The authors apply a conceptual framework to enable a data-informed examination of the policy and social underpinnings of complex questions in our healthcare ecosystem, including health disparities. Frameworks that incorporate a theory-based lens to interpret data are critical for advancing solutions for complex challenges, like health disparities. https://lnkd.in/gFq7t5Sf
