Day 4 at AWS re:Invent: Inspiration, Innovation, and New Possibilities! The day started with my favorite keynote—the one and only Dr. Werner Vogels. His insights are always a source of inspiration, and this year was no different. “Keep it simple, plan for failure, plan for volume…” These principles align perfectly with what we’re building for Strato. At the expo, Levy Bajamundi and I had a productive discussion about fine-grained authorization and how we can make it faster and more seamless for our customers. We’ve already got some ideas that we’re excited to bring back to life—Manila team, get ready! Later, I attended a deep-dive session on better event handling and ended the day by getting hands-on with Amazon S3 Tables—yes, S3 as a database! This is a game-changer that opens up so many new possibilities. While I skipped AWS re:Play to recharge, the team went to celebrate an amazing week, and I can’t wait to hear about their experience. Tomorrow is the last day of re:Invent. Surely a must-see session; I expect there will be practical takeaways for a huge number of builders. It helps that Kimberley Clements and Chris King are two of the sharpest, most insightful professionals in the field.

Advice for an AWS re:Invent rookie? This year marks my first run at #awsreinvent. Feels like I've walked into the tech version of Times Square on New Year’s Eve. Massive venue(s), mountains of sessions and I’m guessing more lanyards than a conference should ever realistically require. If you’re a veteran, I’m all ears. Got any pointers on how not to drown in the sea of keynotes, demos and networking opportunities? Is there some hidden strategy to picking sessions or surviving the week? Also, considering the size of this event, I'm thinking of setting up a “First Timers Meetup” to commiserate with fellow re: rookies. Even though we are not connected to the market right now just like December January batch, more than 6 months will be spent in training only. Still we are made jobless and offerless purposely by Virtusa even after fulfilling all the criteria the December January batch. Then how are you hiring freshers in the above mentioned job post, conducting off campus drives, signing MOU, expanding spaces etc etc. Still we are made to sit idle just because of your false statements of market conditions.
