Marketing is not a democracy. This was the standout message for me when I spoke with Brandon Redlinger 🌶️ for the first episode of the B2B Brand podcast. Marketing in B2B tech has very often found itself as a diminutive function in decision making, figuring out how to put the best shine on bad ideas. But, when it is allowed to be a true discipline, as Brandon accurately describes it - a classically trained one, then it can focus its efforts in ways that create real resonance and impact. "Tell me a story about the most remarkable thing you've done in Marketing." That was the ask of Eric Eden during my recent guest appearance on the Remarkable Marketing Podcast podcast. Just one? 😂 So I gave him two stories, first about how we've upended our demand generation strategy and reduced our CPL by 90% and produced an ROAS of 10X on pipeline. The second one is a rather old-school approach that can be surprisingly effective in today's AI-powered explosion of email prospecting.
