For those of you who celebrate Christmas, what's something years ago you desperately hoped for as a gift? Perhaps it was at a very young age--or just last year! Decades ago there was this thing designed for kids that had a fan on it, pointing up, with a control arm that allowed you to direct a balloon in different directions. Man, I thought that was amazing. It mesmerized me. When I unwrapped it (I must have been under 10 years old), I could go without eating or sleeping. At least for a couple of days. Of course, now I don't even remember what it was called. But boy o boy did I hope for that gift. I don't know what you're hoping for in life as you end this year and start another.
