🔥 TikTok Shop's reporting is catching up to Amazon
In the image below, we have the actual ad performance compared to the reporting from TikTok Shop.
You noticed the differences in sales figures... around $2,000.
It shows how TikTok Shop is learning and still catching up to Amazon.
Their reporting is far from accurate..... but neither was Amazon 'back in the day'.
Terrible reporting.... incorrect figures.... it feels like Amazon Attribution (it's glitchy on a good day)
BUT.....

TikTok takes aim at Instagram with new TikTok Notes app in recent days. and according to our data (#FastMoss), during last year's Black Friday promotion period (October 27th to November 24th), the GMV for the U.S. TikTok Shop on a single day (November 24th) exceeded $33 million. This year the number is going to be huge!
Amazon just teamed up with TikTok and Pinterest to let users shop directly on these platforms with real-time pricing and Prime perks.
Here are my quick-fire thoughts:
1. Amazon's ads on TikTok now link straight to their platform, making it easy to snag deals with Prime benefits. It's basically what DTC brands have been doing forever—just means more cash for TikTok.
2. Power Move: This partnership could be TikTok's way of getting cozy with a big U.S. e-commerce player, especially with all the ban drama. Might help TikTok stay in the clear.
3. Limited Selection: The "select products" bit probably means we're not getting everything. Kinda takes the edge off the hype.
That being said I can’t wait to see where this goes!

I can say that I was expecting this. It was just a matter of time.
There were only two ways how this scenario could unfold - either they would work together and create a collaboration powerhouse or try to compete heavily against each other and create an eCom warzone.
Luckily for many Amazon sellers, this happens to be the biggest opportunity of this decade!
I'm looking forward to seeing what else would come with this collaboration. Will Amazon now get rid of the Brand Referral Bonus (which was an incentive for sellers to drive a lot of outside traffic now for years) or would Amazon now finally introduce that in Europe/UK as well?
What role will DSP now have after this?
And how well will Amazon present the analytics - I certainly hope that Amazon Attribution tracking will see some better days now as well - as this was one of the most annoying things sellers were experiencing in the past few years.

Amazon should buy TikTok.
I have seen first-hand the power of the LIVE-selling marketplace. It is clear that U.S. consumers LOVE impulse buying on items they see on their "For You" pages.
The LIVE marketplace is a rapidly growing medium for commerce, and Amazon is investing into capturing these consumers, however they don't currently have an entertainment / social media channel where consumers are engaging with content.
Amazon buying TikTok would allow for them to embed their products into content creators videos, and TikTok shops.
Let the creators sell the products through content creation and video.
Capture the data to better serve consumers of the platform products they are interested in seeing.
