My experience is that the EU has historically been more aggressive about regulation of data privacy, for example, than is the case here in the USA. Regulation of AI appears to be on similar respective trajectories in these 2 markets. For my healthcare audience in North America, as the relative value of various uses of AI becomes clearer and the related interests of the healthcare enterprise become more focused, I suggest that it’s very much in the enterprise’s best interests to proactively choose a Responsible AI way forward. As is the case for many topics in healthcare that get this kind of attention, I suggest that the healthcare enterprise can choose to be the AI bug, or the AI windshield. Choose to be the windshield. #AI #EU #REGULATION: #AIregulation is happpening, folks. The #EuropeanUnion’s parliament on Wednesday approved the world’s first major set of regulatory ground rules to govern the mediatized #artificialintelligence at the forefront of tech investment. Key thought: “The #AIAct is not the end of the journey, but, rather, the starting point for a new model of #governance built around #technology." I am pleased that FICO's patented application of #blockchain for #AImodel #development and operational #governance is ready to support these formalized objectives.
