The #SaudiData & #AIAuthority (#SDAIA) is a government entity established in 2019 by the #Kingdom of #SaudiArabia with the goal of driving the country's data and #ArtificialIntelligence agenda. In the past, I published several documents from their researchers because I feel they are well done with interesting points of view, both common occidental and original oriental cultures. The group focuses on three initiatives: 1️⃣ National Strategy for Data and AI (#NSDAI): A roadmap designed to make Saudi Arabia a leader in AI by 2030; 2️⃣ Establishment of the National Data Bank (#NDB): A centralized platform for storing and managing the Kingdom’s vast data resources; 3️⃣ #AIEthics, #PrivacyFrameworks, #Education: Guidelines that ensure AI technologies are developed and applied in ways that are ethical, transparent, and fair, as well as people awareness and talent development; "Saudi Academic Framework for AI Qualifications" outlines a comprehensive #framework for AI qualifications, including diplomas, bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, and PhDs: by providing clear guidelines for academic and training programs in AI, the framework directly supports the development of a skilled workforce capable of leveraging AI technologies. The framework has an #holistic approach to #AIEducation and it doesn't just focus on technical skills. It emphasizes a well-rounded education that includes: ➡️ Core AI concepts and techniques; ➡️ Ethics and responsible AI development; ➡️ Communication and teamwork skills; ➡️ Research methodologies; ➡️ Project management. As far as I have seen, it is miles ahead of the similar initiatives I have seen so far 👌 for several reasons: 1️⃣ The framework's built-in #flexibility, allows educational institutions to adapt and update their programs to keep pace with the latest developments; 2️⃣ #Multiple entry-points unlock the wonderful concept of a #pipeline of diverse talents (pretty); 3️⃣ Local and global #benchmarking show how it was developed with an eye toward global standards, are signs of maturity not commonly seen; Of course it is part of a #BiggerPicture where such standardized approach to AI education, is laying the groundwork for: ➡️ Promoting a robust AI ecosystem; ➡️ Attracting international talent and partnerships; ➡️ Positioning itself as a global leader in AI innovation; ➡️ Driving economic diversification through technology. Of course, that's awesome but also #challenging: such an ambitious framework and vision require great leaders and leadership for the actuation, remarkable resources (but I don't feel it is a problem...), and a long-term strategy without expecting an immediate ROI. 💡 In my opinion the (*immediate) #ROI* is a potential #pitfall we must be cautious about: expecting quick returns on such a comprehensive educational overhaul could lead to disappointment or, worse, hasty implementation. #Academy #Edu #Academic #Innovation #Learning #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ArtOfThinking #Intelligence

Saudi banking sector fuels economic growth and inclusion via digital transformation Saudi Arabia's fintech and banking sector is experiencing a transformative digital revolution, significantly enhancing the nation's economic landscape. With the ambitious Vision 2030 led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Kingdom is rapidly embracing digital advancements within the banking domain. Economist Talat Hafiz highlights that this digital shift has made financial transactions seamless, real-time, and cost-effective, greatly benefiting businesses and contributing to overall economic growth. The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has been pivotal in this transformation, actively promoting the digital bank model by issuing full digital banking licenses. These licenses have enabled the launch of digital banks like STC Bank and the Saudi Digital Bank, enhancing the Kingdom's banking infrastructure. The Saudi Central Bank – SAMA unveiled the 2nd release of the #OpenBanking Framework that can now cater to Payment Initiation Services (#PIS) in addition to the already implemented Account Information Services (#AIS) framework. Open Banking opened eyes in the cradles of the European Financial Industry less than a decade ago. #KSA might be the first country outside Europe to implement customized versions of Open Banking Framework that differ from the ones issued by Open Banking Implementation Entity (#OBIE) of #UK. When coupled with #Buna, the AIS and PIS frameworks can be game changers for businesses in the KSA. #Fintechs are now becoming the prime challengers for the traditional commercial and corporate banking regime.
