Over the past four years, #internalcommunications has taken on heightened significance in organizations around the world. These leaders -- often with small but mighty teams -- have laid the groundwork for responding to Covid, advising on how executives should talk about social unrest, and identified ways to build morale during economic uncertainty.
At Shallot, we've always believed that the ways you communicate with your teams are even more important than how you show up externally. And we know that the heads of internal communications are at the forefront of trying to do this right.
Last week, in Chicago, we convened 20 executives in charge of internal communications at their respective organizations. We talked through the state of the industry, ideas around measuring success, and the importance of creating a community of employee communications leaders.
