Partnerships matter – According to Accenture Research, the landscape of ecosystem partnerships has evolved dynamically over the past decade. Industrial companies have nearly tripled the number of partnerships, while increasingly collaborating beyond their sectors to drive technology convergence with firms in software, platforms, and high-tech industries. What´s more, our analysis shows that ecosystem strategies clearly pay off through higher growth rates and profitability. This insight shaped my participation at this week’s #ManufacturingX conference, organized by the BMWK in Berlin. It’s clear that standards around #Industrial #Dataspaces are crucial for fostering greater collaboration and driving the digital transformation of European industries. The Berlin event showcased promising use cases, but the scaling of these solutions has yet to happen. If we manage to shift the focus from compliance-driven use cases to creating new business models, enhancing supply chain resilience, and improving customer services, industrial dataspaces could become a catalyst for growth and a game changer for partnerships. Partnerships, contributing and sharing and leveraging benefits across the complete value chain, is a strong driver to increase resilience and agility. Based on shared data and a strong will to setup the ecosystem processes best for all partners to enable and allow partners to pariticipate true value from it, will be key. Otherwise is not worth spending any time into it.
Highly interesting, this graphic, hadn't seen that before, so thank you, Patrick. Interesting to see how partnerships increased in the last 10 years, and where. The next question is then also what will this graphic look like in 10 years' time. I'd wager that we'll see more partnerships, and probably more spread out across industries, perhaps mostly driven by the exciting tech advances we are seeing now. A bit of an obstruction may be the global political dimension, but perhaps best to stay optimistic even on that aspect.
