This weekend, I did something that felt completely out of my comfort zone—I stepped into the boxing ring for a white-collar boxing match. And let me tell you, it was a wild ride that packed a punch in more ways than one! 😅
A HUGEEE thank you to everyone who donated via my GoFundMe and raised over £1,245 for Greengate Trust & Yemaid! 💕
When I first signed up, it was all about raising money for a cause close to my heart. But as I got deeper into training, I realised that what I was gaining went far beyond the charity aspect. Pushing myself to do something I didn’t need to do—but wanted to—was a huge personal win.
The feeling of empowerment that came from sticking to a training regime and getting to the end was great!
There were moments in the ring where all the preparation I had done seemed to fly out the window. It was one of those moments where life reminds you that, no matter how ready you think you are, surprises can hit hard. The real lesson was that it’s not about avoiding those punches (because life will always throw some at you). It’s about how you adjust your stance, change your technique, and keep moving forward.
One of the most rewarding parts of the entire experience was hearing my family cheering for me in the crowd. Knowing that I was showing them, firsthand, that stepping out of your comfort zone leads to growth in every area of life was an incredible feeling.
In both boxing and life, preparation is important. But what’s even more crucial is the resilience to adapt when things don’t go as planned. There’s something so powerful in challenging yourself in all times of life regardless of the odds.
(BTW the result was a draw and I LOVED every second of it!)
