After 6+ months in beta, my new company, Uptick, is now live. Working in eCommerce and performance advertising in the last 10 years, I was advising a lot of eCommerce brands and sellers about 1-click upsells. When implemented the right way, I saw a 5-10% bounce in their total revenue, especially with Shopify. I felt there was something more to this. It was there. Raw, and untapped - a high buying intent. There’s no higher buying intent for a user than right after they purchased an item. They have their credit card out, they’re on a "high", and they want to continue. So I began researching what’s out there, after the 1-click upsell. Not a lot. Companies are pretty good at promoting their own items. But once that’s out of the way, they come up empty. Seeing that ocean of opportunities, I became focused on monetizing thank you pages. That’s how Uptick was born. Data from day 1 of #PrimeBigDealDays is rolling in, and sales are WAY up compared to last year. Why? Is it the social commerce effect? Or are consumers more desperate for deals? Let's look at two brands to see what was different this year. Client A: Last year, a brand in the supplement space had one bestseller in a featured deal. This year, three new product lines are already within our top 10 revenue drivers. On top of that, we’ve expanded beyond just branded traffic, boosting rankings on high-traffic, unbranded search terms that we hadn’t targeted before. Client B: This hair care brand is seeing bigger success this year simply due to refining their listings. Over our partnership, we've improved customer navigation by switching from dropdowns to visually appealing boxes, making it easier for customers to browse through hair dye color options. On mobile, optimizing the main images to pop more made a huge impact, driving higher click-through rates and conversions. Both brands benefitted from a bigger Prime Big Deals Day, but smarter execution is paying off, too. For brands that didn't run any deals this week, we're seeing the typical, more modest increase in sales. How's #PBDD shaping up for you?
