Helpful article from SHRM reminding people of the reasons why people are leaving their jobs in such large numbers these days: lack of opportunity for advancement; family health issues and lack of work/life balance. Some constructive examples are offered to lower the turnover rate.... #employees #workplace #leaving

Great article from SHRM. #Worklifebalance is only getting harder to navigate in the age of virtual and/or hybrid work arrangements. I'm curious to hear what your organization is doing (if anything) to inoculate itself against turnover triggered by work demands that (for some) make it increasingly difficult to stay in balance with life's other demands. I'd like to share some of your ideas and strategies in an upcoming newsletter.

Yes, We are no longer willing to accept outdated workplace practices that don't serve us. We need fair treatment, diversity, flexibility, and a genuine focus on mental well-being and work life balance. **Embracing the Right to Disconnect for Better Work-Life Balance** In a significant step forward, the Fair Work Act 2009 has been updated to include the Right to Disconnect. This pivotal amendment empowers employees with a legal entitlement to not engage with work-related communications—be it monitoring, reading, or responding—from their employer or any third party outside their standard working hours, unless refusing to do so is considered unreasonable. This change underscores a growing recognition of the need for clear boundaries between professional and personal life, especially in an era where digital connectivity can blur these lines. It's a call to action for organizations to reevaluate their work culture, ensuring that respect for personal time is not just encouraged but embedded in their operational ethos. As we navigate these changes, it becomes essential to reflect on how we, as leaders and team members, can support not only our own work-life balance but also that of our colleagues. The right to disconnect isn't just a legal mandate; it's a component of a healthy work environment, contributing to overall well-being and productivity. I'm curious to hear from you—how are you and your team adapting to support work-life balance, well-being, and the right to disconnect? What strategies or practices have you found effective in creating a culture that respects personal time while achieving professional goals? #WorkLifeBalance #EmployeeWellbeing #RightToDisconnect #leadershipdevelopment https://lnkd.in/gyJyjRGe.

🌟 𝑰𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑬𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒊𝒏 𝑯𝑹 🌟 - My Experience I remember back in the time where employees do have personal issues. for example, need work from home because their children's health is not well, need advance salary because they have to pay EMI of house, sometimes allow late punches because of family issue and many more. I realised that more empathise and connect you're (HR) with them (Employees), more they will come back with renewed energy and ready to give their best to the team. That experiences taught me how a little empathy can transform someone's journey at work. When employees feel truly seen and heard, they’re not just more productive—they’re more loyal, engaged and fulfilled. 💪 As HR professionals, let’s continue to lead with empathy, creating workplaces where everyone feels valued. #EmpathyInHR #HRLeadership #PeopleFirst #EmpathyMatters #EmployeeWellbeing #HRInspiration

It’s unreasonable to expect individuals to work 70-hour weeks while being compensated with stagnated salaries that haven’t grown in a decade. Hard work should be rewarded fairly—not just in monetary terms but also through respect for time, work-life balance, and opportunities for growth. This raises critical questions about workplace ethics, fair compensation, and sustainable productivity. Organizations must recognize that sustainable productivity comes from valuing employees’ contributions, not exploiting their time. If we want to build thriving workplaces, we must ensure employees feel valued for their efforts. For those facing such situations, it’s essential to assess whether the role aligns with long-term career goals or if better opportunities exist. Never settle for less than your worth—your skills and time have immense value. Let’s advocate for a future where work is both rewarding and equitable. What are your thoughts on this? Is This a Healthy Work Environment? 🤔 It's disheartening to see companies exploiting highly qualified professionals by offering low salaries. While cost-cutting is a reality, undervaluing skilled workers is unethical and unsustainable. A healthy work environment should prioritize: #Fair Compensation: Employees deserve fair pay for their skills and experience. #Respectful Treatment: A positive, supportive work culture is essential. #Ethical Practices: Avoiding exploitation of workers, especially vulnerable populations. #Work-Life Balance: Promoting a healthy balance between work and personal life. #Professional Development: Providing opportunities for growth and advancement. #workplaceethics #jobmarket #faircompensation #worklifebalance #professionaldevelopment
