Holiday Motivation: Leading with Empathy and Purpose. The holiday season is a unique time in the workplace. For some, it’s filled with joy and excitement, while for others, it can bring challenges—personally and professionally. As leaders, understanding this duality is key to keeping our teams motivated and supported. So, how do we inspire and uplift teammates during the holidays? It starts with recognizing that motivation isn’t one-size-fits-all. Some employees may feel the pull of family responsibilities, while others may feel isolated or disconnected during this season. Both perspectives matter, and as leaders, our role is to meet our teams where they are. Here are some ways to make a difference: Acknowledge and Appreciate: A simple “thank you” or acknowledgment of their efforts can go a long way in making teammates feel valued. Create Flexibility: Offer opportunities for work-life balance, such as adjusted schedules, to ease the pressures of the season. Foster Inclusivity: Celebrate in ways that honor diverse traditions and make everyone feel seen and included. Provide Support: For those who may find the holidays difficult, consider creating moments of connection, such as team lunches or small acts of kindness. Remember, the holidays mean something different to everyone. Lead with empathy, be mindful of your team’s unique needs, and show that you care—not just about the work they do, but about who they are. By doing so, we can create a workplace culture that inspires and uplifts, not just during the holidays, but all year round.

As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to reflect on something that’s not only important to me as a leader but also vital for fostering a positive and sustainable work culture: the importance of allowing our employees to truly disengage from work and fully enjoy the holidays. In sales—and in so many other professions—it’s easy to feel like the grind never stops. Deadlines, targets, and emails can often creep into the time we should be spending with family, recharging, and reflecting on what matters most. But as leaders, we have the power to change this. Giving employees the space to unplug during the holidays isn’t just about being kind or generous (though that’s certainly a big part of it). It’s about recognizing that: 1 - Rest fuels performance: When people return from a break truly refreshed, they come back more creative, focused, and energized. 2 - Boundaries build trust: When employees see that their leaders respect their time, they’re more likely to stay engaged and loyal. 3 - Holidays are sacred: The memories we create during these times with loved ones are priceless, and no work email or task should rob anyone of those moments. So, this holiday season, let’s commit to giving our teams the gift of presence—the ability to be fully present with their families, friends, or even just themselves. Let’s silence the emails, delay the non-urgent meetings, and encourage everyone to truly unplug. As leaders, we set the tone. When we prioritize our employees’ well-being, we’re not just creating happier teams—we’re building a culture of respect, trust, and sustainability. Let’s inspire one another to lead with intention this season. #Leadership #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeWellBeing #TeamBuilding #UnplugAndRecharge #SustainableSuccess #InspiringLeadership

As the holiday season begins, it marks one of the most stressful times of the year for your teams. While there are joys and celebrations, there are also worries about money, balancing work and home life, and meeting end-of-year goals. Many workers are feeling burned out, and this feeling gets even stronger during the holidays. Financial worries and increased stress levels make this time especially challenging for most employees. It's important to make employees feel appreciated and supported during the holiday season. What can leaders do to help? Recognizing employees should happen all year, but it's especially important now. Showing genuine appreciation during this time can help re-energize teams, build a sense of belonging, and end the year on a positive note. Simple gestures of appreciation can make a big difference. Simple ways to support your team: ✍️ Write heartfelt notes to acknowledge their hard work. 🔄 Encourage open communication and feedback. 🎉 Add fun surprises throughout the employee experience. 🕒 Offer flexible work hours to help balance work and personal life. ♥️ Remind employees to use up their calendar-based benefits coverage such as massage therapy to promote their wellbeing 🤝 Organize a lunch or a social event to spend time with your team. 🏆 Review and maybe adjust the goals to reduce stress about end-of-year expectations. 📢 Publicly acknowledge achievements in team meetings or newsletters. 🛍️ Offer small tokens of appreciation, like gift cards. 🏖️ Remind your employees to use up their vacation time or paid time off. Use this opportunity to focus on your employees' well-being. By recognizing and supporting your teams now, you can help them navigate one of the most stressful times of the year and start the new year feeling refreshed and motivated. #HumanResources #HR #Wellbeing #HolidaySeason #EmployerTips

With the holidays just around the corner, I've been thinking a lot about this past year 🎄 Life doesn't pause when challenges pop up—personal struggles, family concerns, or simply balancing personal and work life—they're all part of our shared human experience. And during these moments, I've realized just how much a supportive workplace can make a difference. It's so easy to get wrapped up in deadlines and projects that we sometimes forget who's behind them: real people. People with unseen worries, personal joys, and everything in between. When we take a moment to truly see our colleagues for who they are, we cultivate a culture of empathy and understanding. It's not just about being nice, polite or professional; it's about recognizing that we're all humans who might be operating at 20% capacity one day and giving 110% the next—and that's perfectly okay ✨ Having a supportive team isn't just a nice bonus—it's essential. In tough times, a kind word or a little encouragement from a colleague can turn a rough day around. It reminds us that we're not alone and that work is about more than just getting things done; it's about people coming together. As we move into the holiday season, let's remember that our workplaces are more than just places to complete tasks—they're communities where we spend a significant part of our lives. By supporting each other, we make work better for everyone 💖 I'm genuinely grateful to be part of an environment where I feel truly seen and valued. So, here's to creating and nurturing environments where people feel appreciated and supported, not just during the holidays but all year round 😊 #SupportiveWorkplace #WorkLifeBalance #TeamSupport #EmpathyAtWork #Gratitude #HolidayReflections

🌟 Supporting Our Teams This Holiday Season 🌟 As we approach the holiday season, it's easy to get caught up in the whirlwind of deadlines, projects, and year-end goals. But this time of year is also about reflection, gratitude, and connection. For many, the holidays are filled with joy and celebration. For others, they can be a time of stress, pressure, or even loneliness. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to acknowledge this and create a supportive environment where our teams feel valued, seen, and heard. Here’s how we can make a difference: ✨ Flexibility: Give grace for all the things that happen during the holiday season. I remember when I worked in-office and had to stress about not being able to make it to every single holiday event at my kiddo's school, which led to stress about them being the only one without a parent there, which led to stress about whether or not I was a good mom, which led to stress about all the other things I don't do well as a mom, which led to... you get it. Being with an employer that gives full flexibility to make what's important important is a game changer. Can I/ should I make it to alllllll the things? No... but do I have the option to prioritize and move my schedule around? Absolutely - and it's one of the biggest reasons Syssero®has my respect and dedication! ✨ Empathy: Check in with your team, not just about work but about how they’re doing. Sometimes, a simple "How can I support you?" can make all the difference. Hold a space for those that maybe aren't enjoying the holiday season so much, and be respectful of employees who choose to bow out of celebrations. ✨ Inclusion: Recognize and celebrate diverse traditions, creating a culture where everyone feels their holiday is respected and represented. A supportive workplace isn’t just good for morale—it’s essential for well-being. Let’s make this season one where our teams thrive, both professionally and personally. To all my fellow leaders: let’s show our appreciation, not just with words, but with actions. 🎄🤝 #Leadership #EmployeeWellBeing #HolidaySeason #EmpathyInLeadership

🏖️ Happy summer holiday season 🏔️ The holiday season brings joy and celebration, but it also brings diverse work styles and availability among employees. Recognizing and respecting these differences is #key to maintaining a supportive and productive work environment. 🚀 Types of Employees During the Holidays: • The Always-On Achiever: These individuals prefer to stay connected and continue working through the holidays. They find fulfillment in maintaining momentum and often handle urgent tasks. • The Balanced Worker: Striving for a work-life balance, they set clear boundaries but remain available for critical needs. They exemplify the blend of productivity and personal time. • The Disconnect & Recharge: Valuing their time off, they fully unplug to spend quality time with loved ones and recharge for the month to come. Their approach highlights the importance of rest and renewal. For me it is quite important to #respect each employee’s choise regarding their availability during the holidays. By ensuring a clear #communication about expectations and promoting the importance of taking breaks and recharging, recognizing it leads to greater long-term productivity. Do it in your way without expecting the same from your colleagues and business contacts. #HolidaySeason #EmployeeWellbeing #WorkLifeBalance #Leadership #Teamwork #ProfessionalGrowth #geirangerfjord2024

Why holidays matter for leaders and teams With summer holidays in full swing, I’ve heard many comments from people in my network feeling the stress of tying up loose ends before setting the 'Out of office' notification. Remember, taking time off isn’t just a luxury - it’s essential. Holidays allow for rest, spark creativity, and strengthen personal connections, all of which are vital for maintaining productivity and mental wellbeing. As leaders, it’s crucial to lead by example so others feel empowered to enjoy restorative time off. By doing so, you ensure that both you and your team can recharge and return with renewed energy and fresh perspectives. This is a photo of a lovely morning - a weekend away just me and hubby. Nice to wake up feeling refreshed. #Leadership #WorkLifeBalance #SummerHolidays #TeamWellbeing

It’s that time of year when cheer fills the air, but so does stress—as year-end deadlines and holiday plans collide. Take my team member, Betsy. Her family’s holiday plans fell through, so she’s found herself saying yes to hosting 14 people at what feels like the last-minute. Overwhelmed, she asked if she could leave early on Fridays to manage her Turkey to-do list.🎉 In a recent one-on-one, I asked, “How’s balancing work and holiday prep going?” She said the Friday time helped, but she was still catching up on projects. After some deeper conversation, we discovered that her casual chats with teammates about her holiday plans—meaningful to her—were taking her off task. Instead of saying, “cut the small talk,” I explored why she valued these conversations—they were her way of finding clarity and a bit of stress relief. Together, we came up with a plan that honors her social nature while keeping her on track. Betsy decided to set aside “social time” during lunch, focusing her mornings and afternoons on work. 🎁 This isn’t just about productivity. It’s about creating a culture that respects personal needs while keeping team goals in sight. Sometimes, a little empathy and a gentle nudge are the best gifts you can give as a manager. How are you supporting your team through this busy season? Share your tips below! 🌟👇 #Leadership #EmpathyInTheWorkplace #HolidaySeasonAtWork #WorkLifeBalance #TeamSupport

As the holiday season approaches, it’s easy for the festive spirit to turn into holiday stress—especially for employees trying to juggle year-end deadlines, family obligations, and everything in between. Great leaders don’t just recognize this; they take action. Here’s how you can step up and help your team avoid the holiday burnout trap: 🎯 Set Clear Priorities: The end of the year can feel like a mad dash to the finish line. As a leader, help your team focus on what truly matters. Prioritize tasks that need to be done before the holidays and push non-essential projects to the new year. Clarity reduces stress. 💬 Encourage Open Communication: Make it easy for your team to talk about their workload and any concerns they have. Regular check-ins can help you spot burnout before it happens. Show your team that it’s okay to speak up and that their well-being comes first. ⏰ Promote Time Off: Encourage employees to take the time off they need. Lead by example—if they see you stepping away to recharge, they’ll feel more comfortable doing the same. Remember, rested employees are more productive and engaged. 🎉 Spread the Cheer: Bring some holiday spirit into the workplace. Whether it’s through virtual events, small gifts, or simply acknowledging their hard work, a little appreciation goes a long way in boosting morale. This season, let’s focus on creating a balanced, supportive environment where employees can enjoy the holidays without burnout. Happy teams make for a happy workplace, and that’s a gift that keeps on giving. #Leadership #EmployeeWellbeing #HolidaySeason #PreventBurnout #WorkplaceCulture #TeamSupport
