THE "SIMPLEST TEST" TO UNDERSTAND THE ACTUAL DEAL Even though in this fantastic study (ORBITA-STAR) patients knew they were going to get PCI, hence the overlapping placebo effect of knowing they would be "saved" from the danger of dying of AMI (sorry about the sarcasm), the information entailed is very simple and very useful; also very real. More functional data are coming from the same study, but already as it stands it is very refreshing to see such a simple and clinically meaningful way to do things without overcomplicated proxies and fancy tricks. As I say in my field: want to know about coronary arteries in the individual patient? Then look at coronary arteries. Get a CT. In this case: want to know about cause>effect of a coronary stenosis in the individual patient? Then increase stenosis degree (occlusion) in that coronary artery.
