TM Forum’s recent report, 'Generative AI: operators take their first steps' explores the role of Generative AI (#GenAI) in the telecommunications industry. TM Forum reports that over half of CSPs are already experimenting with GenAI: ▪ Early Adoption: Despite being relatively new, more than 50% of CSPs are already exploring GenAI, particularly in areas like customer chatbots and network operations. ▪ Low-hanging fruit: Operators are leveraging out-of-the-box LLMs fine-tuned with their own data to unlock early-stage value. ▪ Complementary Tech: GenAI is not replacing existing AI systems but augmenting them, especially in areas like AIOps, network automation, and unstructured data processing. ▪ Challenges: CSPs face hurdles such as siloed data, lack of a common ontology, and concerns about LLM accuracy, hallucination and scalability. ▪ Opportunities: Six out of ten CSP executives believe GenAI will have a significant impact within the next 1-2 years, offering breakthroughs in customer operations, sales, marketing, IT, product innovation, and internal training. #OptOSS AI is here to help #Telecoms embrace the potential of #GenAI today by leveraging localised LLMs to accelerate interpretation of anomalous network telemetry clusters. “Semantic AI” (added in OptOSS AI major release 8.0) provides an explanation on why clusters are anomalous, identifies potential causes, and recommends mitigation actions. Enhance proactive monitoring and Root-Cause Analysis activities with Gen AI to ultimately improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your network operations. 🔗 Curious to learn more?
