Gender representation on UK energy sector boards is stagnant. Our recent report with @POWERful Women found that in 2024 the top 80 UK energy companies found that 29% of all board members (executive and non-executive) are women (same as in 2023). This suggests we are still finding it challenging to get women into key decision-making roles—and that progress on representation on boards is slowing. How it started .......................................................... How it's going ................. In 2015, when POWERful Women first started gathering data, women occupied just 9% of all board seats in the UK energy sector. 📈Our latest data, published with Bain & Company, shows that female representation has more than trebled since then. But there is more to do to get to gender balance at the top! A fifth of the UK's energy employers have no women on their boards at all, which is a sorry state of affairs in 2024 - for women and for the performance of those companies in a sector that needs diverse talent, leadership and innovation. 📣 CALL TO ACTION - we need to accelerate the pace of change 🏃🏻♀️➡️ Check out our new '40 by 30' manifesto, with 3 key actions that will move the needle towards our 40% by 2030 target and beyond, and make your own commitments. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/eWtWzFjq What will YOU do? #10yearsofPfW #womeninenergy #calltoaction #DEI #energytransition

Working to have diverse points of view around any table is important to decision making.
The proportion of women in senior management roles in mid-market companies around the world is growing, but not fast enough. If we continue to move at this pace, the mid-market may not reach gender parity until 2053. Our national tax leader, Tara Benham reflects on the progress we’ve made over the past 20 years “One of the most significant changes that have impacted women in senior management is the acceptance that women often play two roles simultaneously. They are often the central organizer of their household while still striving to keep all the balls in the air at work.” Read how Canadian businesses are tracking on the pathway to parity in today’s world in our Women in Business report: https://ow.ly/zBzr50R3Kqb

Last year, the number of female-led companies that secured external funding fell by 1.68%. This in addition to the proportion of women working in VC sticking at 30% since 2019, and equally flat figures for the proportion of VC £'s that go to female founders. Today, The Gender Index unveil their 2024 report - a cornerstone for understanding the UK business landscape from a gender perspective. It aims to spotlight the opportunities and challenges female-led companies face, driving a transformative agenda for women in enterprise. Understanding our current landscape is critical to creating the change we need to see in the ecosystem. Check it out at https://lnkd.in/etZbDeGR

Happy International Women's Day! Today, we celebrate the extraordinary women around the world and those I have the honour of collaborating with at Goodman Masson. Shout out to Jeanette Eccleston your resilience, expertise, and determination are a driving force behind our shared mission for a more equitable industry. 2024 brings with it inspiring progress: women now constitute 15% of leading roles in social housing across the UK, an uplift that marks a decisive step towards achieving gender parity in the social housing sector. While we recognise there's more ground to cover, each advancement is a step towards positive change. Its great to recruit into an industry that values dismantling outdated barriers and wholeheartedly supports equality and we are making progress within Social Housing but still a lot of work to be done. Where excellence is celebrated, and gender is no boundary to opportunity. Today we celebrate the accomplishments, face our challenges and make a real difference in the sector to attract and provide ongoing top female talent #InternationalWomensDay #WomenInSocialHousing #GMHousing
