The Australian Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Policy and Methods Review is a major initiative designed to improve patient access to essential medicines and treatments in Australia. It’s especially focused on addressing inequities, ensuring that underrepresented groups like First Nations and pediatric patients receive the care they need. This is about more than just shortening wait times—it's about making sure that the entire healthcare system works for all Australians. By improving transparency, reducing duplication, and streamlining approval processes, these reforms will have a direct impact on patient care and outcomes. GHLF Australia - commemorating our 10th year in Australia - played a key role in contributing to this report, amplifying the patient perspective through ongoing collaboration with government and healthcare leaders. Our advocacy ensures that the voices of chronic disease patients are front and center in decision-making processes. This milestone report is a testament to what can be achieved when patients, government, and industry work together. Congratulations to everyone involved in making these reforms a reality, especially Mark Butler MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, for his leadership. It was an honor to meet and visit with him and we look forward to future collaboration!
