Jobseekers, I see very long interview processes at the senior levels -- we are talking 3, 4, 5+ months. This is largely out of the control of your recruiter contacts and very much dictated by busy decision-maker's schedules. If you want to start a new job by the fall, keep at it all summer. - Build your company target list using Steve Dalton's The 2-Hour Job Search method. His book explains how to build a list of 40 and how to chip away at it. - Ask for informational conversations. 30-minute Zooms or coffee dates are great ways to gather information, ask for recommendations, and gain referrals. - Stay top of mind. You have heard of the Hidden Job Market. It is not a new concept. Your job is to stay present with your network so you may hear about percolating and unadvertised opportunities. Heck, you might even have a chance to have a job written around your skill set! It is frustrating to enter a long interview process and emerge as the number two candidate. Keep a couple of balls in the air because there are no guarantees regarding budgets or circumstances that throw the job offer in another candidate's direction. As for these long interview processes -- when you land your next executive role, become a tight partner with your TA and help drive recruitment processes and candidate care with fewer stops and starts. #careers #jobs #management

💼 Applying for a new job can be both exciting and nerve-wracking... so here are some tips for you to stand out in a competitive market (I often see candidates overlook these in the recruitment process): - Customise your CV to each specific opportunity you are applying for, highlighting skills and achievements that align with the job description - Network with professionals, attend events, and engage with your LinkedIn community for potential job leads - Review the profiles of people who are interviewing you, and research the company thoroughly to align your skills with their goals and assess if it's the right fit - Preparation is key for an interview - practice common questions, use the STAR method, and be ready to ask insightful questions Remember, the recruitment process is as much about finding the right fit for you as it is for the employer - stay positive, be patient, and keep refining your approach If you need support with your job search, preparation, or simply want to discuss your next steps, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me! 🤝 #jobsearch #recruitment #careertips #jobhunt #interviewtips

Purple House Recruitment Career Hacks Being Confident Starts With Preparation Confidence in an interview is key. The hiring manager doesn’t expect you to be perfect or think you won’t have any nerves, though they will expect you to communicate who you are and why you would be a good fit for the role and their company. Here are a few simple ideas to build your confidence. First, thoroughly research the company and role to understand what they are looking for; your recruiter can help with this. Practice answering common interview questions and focus on how your experience aligns with the job requirements. Dress appropriately and arrive early to settle your nerves. During the interview, maintain good posture, make eye contact, and speak clearly. Remember, it's okay to pause and gather your thoughts before responding. Communicate your strengths and achievements confidently, but also be honest about areas for growth. Finally, ask insightful questions to demonstrate your interest and knowledge. Believe in yourself, your abilities, and the value you can bring to the role. #hrrecruitment #hrrecruiter #interviewtips #careeradvice

Candidates are fed up with being ghosted, scammed, and overlooked. 😡 The frustration is real, and it's driving many to reconsider their approach to job searching. Enter the informational interview. 👏👏👏 Rather than relying solely on online applications, candidates can take control of their job search by reaching out directly to professionals in their desired field. These conversations not only provide valuable insights but also help candidates build relationships that can lead to job referrals, mentorship, and, ultimately, the right opportunities. This is a good approach for emerging, mid-level, and executive job seekers. #workhard #workhappy

🤔 Job interview - more than just a hiring process A job interview offers a company immense opportunities. While the primary goal is, of course, to understand candidates better and select the most suitable person for the role, the possibilities extend far beyond this. Broader Opportunities Include 👉 Creating Outstanding Experiences: Ensuring that every candidate has a positive experience can lead to future collaborations. A good interview experience is the foundation for this step. 👉 Showcasing Your Culture and Values: Use the interview to communicate your company’s culture, values, mission, and vision authentically. When we are sincere, authentic, and human, the message spreads effectively. 👉 Building Relationships: Candidates might become our customers, partners, or collaborators in the future. The interview is an opportunity to speak deeply about the company, how we operate, and what we stand for. 👉 Strengthening Employer Branding: Highlight your Employer Value Proposition (EVP) and reinforce your employer brand through every interaction. We miss many opportunities when we focus solely on the immediate impact related to a single job opening. #employerbranding #candidateexperience #companyculturematters #recruiting

Finding the right person for your team can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are three down-to-earth tips to make your recruitment process smoother and more effective. Get Specific About What You Need: - Think of your job description as a conversation starter. Be clear about what you’re looking for—what the job involves, what skills are essential, and what makes someone a great fit. It’s like setting up a date: the more you share, the better the match! Cast a Wide Net: - Don’t stick to just one site or platform. Share your job openings on different job boards, social media, and professional networks like LinkedIn. You never know where the perfect candidate might be hanging out! Keep Interviews Friendly and Efficient: - No one enjoys a drawn-out interview process. Make things easy for candidates by keeping the process quick, clear, and welcoming. A smooth interview experience not only helps you find the right person but also leaves a positive impression on your company. Need help finding your next superstar?
