Jobseekers, I see very long interview processes at the senior levels -- we are talking 3, 4, 5+ months. This is largely out of the control of your recruiter contacts and very much dictated by busy decision-maker's schedules. If you want to start a new job by the fall, keep at it all summer. - Build your company target list using Steve Dalton's The 2-Hour Job Search method. His book explains how to build a list of 40 and how to chip away at it. - Ask for informational conversations. 30-minute Zooms or coffee dates are great ways to gather information, ask for recommendations, and gain referrals. - Stay top of mind. You have heard of the Hidden Job Market. It is not a new concept. Your job is to stay present with your network so you may hear about percolating and unadvertised opportunities. Heck, you might even have a chance to have a job written around your skill set! It is frustrating to enter a long interview process and emerge as the number two candidate. Keep a couple of balls in the air because there are no guarantees regarding budgets or circumstances that throw the job offer in another candidate's direction. As for these long interview processes -- when you land your next executive role, become a tight partner with your TA and help drive recruitment processes and candidate care with fewer stops and starts. #careers #jobs #management

Why Aren’t Recruiters Scheduling Interviews Despite Abundant Job Opportunities❓ In today’s competitive job market, it's common for job seekers to apply for around 100 positions per week sometimes more than that, especially after relocating to a new area where opportunities are plentiful. However, many encounter a frustrating lack of responses from recruiters, with no interviews being scheduled. What might be the reasons behind this? Several factors could be contributing to this issue: 🏃♂️🏃♀️High Competition: The job market is saturated with candidates, making it difficult for individual resumes to stand out. 🤖 Automated Systems: Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) often filter out resumes before they reach a recruiter’s desk. 📄Resume Relevance: Resumes that aren’t tailored to specific job descriptions may have lower chances of catching a recruiter’s attention. 🤝Networking: A lack of local network connections can limit visibility and referrals, which are crucial in the hiring process. 🧩Skill Gaps: There may be subtle skill mismatches or gaps that are not immediately apparent to job seekers but critical to recruiters. 💬🔍Let’s Discuss: What strategies have you found effective in securing interviews in such a competitive environment? #JobSearch #CareerAdvice #Recruitment #JobHunting #CareerGrowth #JobOpportunities #Networking #ResumeTips #CareerDevelopment #ATS #JobMarket #HiringTips #ProfessionalGrowth #JobSeekers #InterviewTips

Finding the right person for your team can be tough, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are three down-to-earth tips to make your recruitment process smoother and more effective. Get Specific About What You Need: - Think of your job description as a conversation starter. Be clear about what you’re looking for—what the job involves, what skills are essential, and what makes someone a great fit. It’s like setting up a date: the more you share, the better the match! Cast a Wide Net: - Don’t stick to just one site or platform. Share your job openings on different job boards, social media, and professional networks like LinkedIn. You never know where the perfect candidate might be hanging out! Keep Interviews Friendly and Efficient: - No one enjoys a drawn-out interview process. Make things easy for candidates by keeping the process quick, clear, and welcoming. A smooth interview experience not only helps you find the right person but also leaves a positive impression on your company. Need help finding your next superstar? Candidates are fed up with being ghosted, scammed, and overlooked. 😡 The frustration is real, and it's driving many to reconsider their approach to job searching. Enter the informational interview. 👏👏👏 Rather than relying solely on online applications, candidates can take control of their job search by reaching out directly to professionals in their desired field. These conversations not only provide valuable insights but also help candidates build relationships that can lead to job referrals, mentorship, and, ultimately, the right opportunities. This is a good approach for emerging, mid-level, and executive job seekers. #workhard #workhappy

After more than 20 years in recruitment, witnessing countless candidates being overlooked for new opportunities due to sub-par CVs or poor interview skills, I made the decision to establish myself as a Career Consultant. Now, I assist professionals in confidently presenting themselves for new opportunities and effectively navigating the recruitment process using my insider insights. Below I shed light on some critical realities that will help you to navigate the recruitment journey effectively: Reality #1: The sheer volume of CVs can overwhelm even the most seasoned recruiter. Crafting a standout CV is crucial to stand out in a competitive job market and present your skills effectively. Reality #2: Keywords are essential. Strategically incorporating them into your CV enhances visibility in applicant tracking systems (ATS) and increases the likelihood of catching the eye of recruiters. Reality #3: First impressions count – big time. Your interview begins the moment you step through the door. From your attire to your handshake, every detail counts. Mastering the behavioural interview format is also critical. Reality #4: It's not just about answering questions; it's about asking the right ones too. Prepare a thoughtful list of questions to demonstrate your enthusiasm and understanding of the opportunity. Reality #5: Sometimes, it's not about you. Budget constraints, internal dynamics, and unforeseen changes can impact the selection process and play a role in who ultimately gets the job offer. Reality #6: Rejection can sting, but it's not the end of the road. I've witnessed the disappointment it can bring. Sometimes, it's just not the right fit – for you, or the organisation. Reality #7: Engaging with the right recruitment company is key! A good recruiter will understand your worth and link you to relevant opportunities, increasing your chances of success in the job market. As a former Recruiter turned Career Consultant, my goal is to demystify the world of recruitment. Whether it's enhancing your CV, mastering interviews, or understanding the intricacies of the hiring process, I'm here to offer guidance and support. #CareerConsultant #Recruitment #NewOpportunities #JobSearch #NewJob #FirstImpressionsCount #InterviewQuestions #CVWriting #ResumeWriting #ExecutiveCVs #Keywords #ATS #Rejection #Recruiter #PreparationIsKey #Network

Are you struggling to receive interview calls? Here are 8 strategies to enhance the number: 1️⃣ Apply only for vacancies that closely match your skill set to avoid irrelevant applications. 2️⃣ Conduct an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) scan of your resume to ensure its format is compatible. 3️⃣ Regularly update your profile on job portals. HR professionals often screen for active profiles. 4️⃣ Submit applications through the career pages of companies. You may also consider reaching out to current employees for referrals, which often proves effective. 5️⃣ Quantify your accomplishments in your resume. For instance, if you increased model accuracy from 60% to 90%, highlight this achievement. Such figures are impactful and easily noticed. 6️⃣ Indicate a notice period of less than one month on job portals. This strategy can lead to initial calls from HR professionals, after which you can negotiate for interview opportunities based on your suitability for the role. 7️⃣ Connect with HR professionals on LinkedIn. Obtain the requisition ID from company career pages and formally request consideration, referencing the requisition ID. 8️⃣ Regularly post updates on LinkedIn about your achievements and ongoing projects. This strategy can help attract the attention of recruiters. Remember, the current job market situation may be contributing to a lower volume of calls. Don’t be disheartened. Stay prepared for opportunities and always give your best. #JobSearchTips #CareerAdvice #ResumeTips #LinkedInNetworking #JobPortals #StayMotivated
