With respect to the complexity and diversity of Indonesia as archipelagic country and the challenges of food system drivers such as demographic, economic, socio-culture and climate change, the food systems transformation will be implemented on the basis of three approaches : (i) comprehensive and integrated of cross-sectoral, issues and action areas of development, (ii) inclusiveness, through national platform that involves multi-stakeholders collaboration and partnership, and (iii) food systems regionalization through promoting localizing food systems across Indonesia.

I got a chance to attend the recently concluded global town hall 2024 organized by SDSN Youth Indonesia and Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia and here are my key insights from this eye opening event 🌿 Food Security Crisis: Millions in Africa rely on relief food, leading to inadequate nutrition. Addressing food security is vital for health and development. 📈 Economic Barriers: The escalating cost of essential food items forces families to prioritize survival over nutrition, highlighting a need for economic support. 🌧️ Climate Impact on Agriculture: Climate change exacerbates conditions for farmers, causing significant crop failures and threatening future food supplies. 🎓 Importance of Education: Educating youth about sustainable farming practices and the importance of nutrition can empower the next generation to combat food insecurity. 🔄 Collaborative Solutions: Global cooperation is necessary to develop comprehensive strategies that address the intertwined issues of climate, food security, and economic stability. 💡 Investment in Innovation: Supporting agricultural technologies and practices can enhance food production, making it more efficient and sustainable. 🌈 Inclusive Decision-Making: Engaging youth and marginalized communities in discussions can lead to more equitable and effective climate policies. Let's continue to engage and advocate for solutions that can make a difference! #FoodSecurity #ClimateAction #Sustainability #Innovation #InclusiveGrowth #Agriculture

Food is a pillar of the nation's sustainability and prosperity. It's essential, not just as a basic need, but also as a marker of a country's well-being and stability. In this regard, the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045 clarifies the importance of food security as one of the main focuses. Therefore, identifying opportunities and setting targets in the food sector are crucial steps that we must delve into and understand in order to realize that vision. 🌾🍲 #KadinIndonesia #IndonesiaEmas2045

As countries develop their National Pathways for food systems transformation, one emerging need is to ensure policies land at different levels. A truly effective ‘national’ policy must span all sub-national areas. GAIN's new paper briefly sets out why this is an important issue, along with examples from Kenya and Indonesia where GAIN is working in support of such efforts and some implications of this for ongoing work to transform food systems for the benefit of people and planet. Food security means having reliable access to enough affordable, nutritious food. It involves four key aspects: availability, accessibility, utilization, and stability. Malaysia has made progress in food security, but it still faces challenges. Key issues include: * Import Dependency: Malaysia relies heavily on imports for several food items, making it vulnerable to global price fluctuations and supply chain disruptions. * Climate Change Impacts: Climate change threatens agricultural production, water availability, and extreme weather events. * Urbanization and Land Use Change: Rapid urbanization reduces agricultural land. * Government Initiatives: The government has implemented measures to promote sustainable agriculture, support local farmers, and invest in research and development. While Malaysia has made strides, it needs to continue strengthening its food systems to ensure a sustainable and resilient food supply for its population.

Current agricultural production is insufficient to feed the projected 9.6 billion people by 2050. To meet this need, food production must double. This highlights the urgent need for innovative solutions to ensure food security in the future. Public and private sectors are coming together to address these challenges and work towards a poverty-free Indonesia, with a strong focus on achieving food security for all. Be part of the conversation at the Indonesia Economic Summit, where we aim to gather insights and foster discussions around economic stability and food security. #IndonesiaEconomicSummit #IES #IndonesiaEconomicSummit2025 #IES2025

Food Systems Transformation Thank you Indonesia flour and feed milling friends. One of my favourite points in the year in Perth, talking #sustainablefinance, climate resilient, nature positive food supply chains with the Grains Australia #Indonesia #Australia #GrainsLeadershipProgram. Western Australian export food supply chains are enmeshed in Indonesian and ASEAN markets. The more we understand each other’s approaches to #sustainability, the more we can co-create resilience to future physical and transition risks from #climatechange #biodiversityloss.
