There are two types of Norwegians. Those who know Equinor from what the company says, and those who know it by what it does. The two versions of Equinor are very different. Knowing them from what it says takes no effort. They make sure to be present in the Norwegian public debate. Knowing them from what they do is harder. It's usually hidden in reports. The shortcut to understanding Equinor without reading all the reports is to follow those who do. That's why I follow Ketan Joshi.

I think the Skills Transition piece for FLOW is the most likely to be overlooked here and I will be focusing on that intently! The opportunity I have in mind for this call centres around the 5th deepest inland body of water in the UK (>125m depth), which is right here in Wales (the 1st-4th are all Lochs in Scotland). I think there's an opportunity for a dedicated inland Floating Offshore Wind (FLOW) training centre, which would benefit from: - minimised inclement weather disruption - no seafaring for access to training environment - Controlled environment with ready access for emergencies and evacuation - Existing deep water commercial diving expertise - Onsite accommodation and learning facilities - Opportunity for real world demonstration of deep anchoring/moorings systems for floating wind turbine rigs, which aren't on the seabed 60km from land. These can be accessed via ROV or deep commercial diving from the comfort of lakeside, pontoon, or rib. There are already dedicated lakeside facilities which could be tailored to the growing needs of the sector, and there is excellent provision and plans for ensuring the site runs as Net Zero through renewable energy generation via Solar, Wind, and Hydro and energy storage. 🇩🇪During the 2nd Offshore Congress held in Emden in Germany, around 100 representatives from politics, trade unions, industry, and associations discussed the state and future of #offshorewind #energy. The discussion clearly emphasised that the northern German states have enormous potential to strengthen their position as the “political heart of #Europe.” To achieve this, it is essential to maintain technological capabilities in Lower Saxony and Germany.
