Here’s a great example of humility. My wife snuck this pic of National Football League (NFL) Hall of Famer and Super Bowl winning Head Coach, Tony Dungy, quietly volunteering with The Salvation Army at the local grocery store during the Holidays. No cameras. No press. No entourage. Just leading by example. Beautiful.
As good a human that you will ever meet
Be a pro. • Act like a champion. • Respond to adversity; don’t react. • Be on time. Being late means either it’s not important to you or you can’t be relied upon. • Execute. Do what you’re supposed to do when you’re supposed to do it. Not almost. All the way. Not most of the time. All of the time. • Take ownership. Whatever it takes. No excuses, no explanations. Tony Dungy
But his gay son, whom the coach rejected, committed suicide...
That speaks volumes about that man's character.
This is nothing new actually. As amazing as it seems, Coach Dungy does sooo much in the Tampa Bay Area that not many don’t know about. It’s literally common to see him out in the community assisting at every level. I lived in Tampa for 11 years and can’t count how many times I’ve stopped and asked him if I can assist him in several things I’ve seen him doing in different neighborhoods. For that guy to take a shot at Coach Dungy is the most disrespectful, false accusation ever!
He’s and Outstanding Man! Blessings Coach. I was privileged to meet him at a book signing in Orlando, Fl. Talked stories with me re. me wearing a University of Hawaii shirt. His love of the islands, and mine. Charge On, Coach. 🙏🤙😎✝️🇺🇸
Tony Dungy is an amazing leader. He models what behaviors we hope for in our leaders and he lives the two most important Commandments every day. If you have not read his books, I highly recommend that you add these to your professional and personal library. His daily devotional is especially good (ladies, this would make a great gift for your favorite guy)
