Dear Friends and Colleagues, I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out today with a humble request on behalf of my godson and nephew, Garrett Klein, who is courageously battling cancer. Garrett is a father of four children (1,3,5 & 7), and his journey has been incredibly challenging. Our family is rallying around him with all the support we can muster. I have set up a gofundme [link therein] to help raise funds for his treatment, unforeseen medical costs, and to provide some peace of mind during this difficult time. If you feel moved to do so, any donation, prayer, or even sharing this message with others who might be willing to help would mean the world to us. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your support, in any form, is deeply appreciated. Warm regards, Nick

LinkedIn friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, I’ve decided to lace up my running shoes again this month, embrace the sweat, and run 100 miles in July for a cause close to my heart: Cancer Research UK (CRUK), with a specific focus on early diagnosis as in most cases the earlier we diagnose Cancer, the greater our chance of beating it. Coming up to the end of week two, I'm on 29 miles, but I'll be past 50 by the end of the week and on track to hit 100 and beyond! I'm proud to say that I'm not doing this challenge alone. I'm joined by some absolute legends from work: Rob Winter, Sophie Andrews, Catherine Gwilliam, Ben Leslie, Garry Hughes, Nick Loxton & Olly Simpson. Why 100 miles? Because running 101 seemed excessive...... My Goal? To raise £500. That's £5 from 100 people or £10 from 50 people, or, well, you get the idea. Every penny counts, and your support, as always, keeps me going and raises funds for this worthy cause. How Can You Help? Donate: Any amount, big or small, will make a huge difference. Even the cost of a coffee could be a step towards beating cancer. Share: Spread the word like you’re sharing the latest viral cat video. The more people who know, the more we can raise! Join me on this journey and make these 100 miles count! Together, we can do our bit to raise money that could be life-changing to so many. Please donate now and track my sweaty journey here: https://lnkd.in/eiC_rhiP Thank you from the bottom of my soon-to-be-tired feet. 🙏 #CancerResearchUK #100MilesInJuly #EarlyDiagnosis #RunningForACause #HelpMeOutrunCancer #CRUK #Fundraising

I've never done this before on here; I'm not even sure if it is the done thing, but here goes... From a young age, men are taught to follow certain "man rules" that can be pretty tough to live up to. It's like we're expected to be superheroes, always strong, competitive, and emotionless (except for anger). We're not supposed to do anything considered "feminine," and we're definitely not supposed to show any weakness. The problem is that all these expectations can be pretty damaging. It can be hard for men to ask for help or admit that they're struggling, and that can lead to serious health issues down the road. I've seen too many guys in my family and among my friends who have suffered because they didn't get help soon enough, whether it's for prostate cancer or, like me, other prostate-related issues. That's why I'm participating in the March the Month, 11,000 steps per day, challenge with Prostate Cancer UK. I'm hoping to raise funds for this amazing charity (https://lnkd.in/eyJFkTSu), but more importantly, I want to raise awareness about prostate health and the importance of getting help early. There are so many prostate-related issues that people don't really talk about, like prostatitis and Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome - which is my personal prostate bugbear. It's time to change that. Thanks for reading, and I am now off to today's 11,000 steps - only another 300,000 to go!

And here's the video
Future of Work Expert & Entrepreneur. Founder of Workathon network consultancy. Award-winner writer and co-host of The Nowhere Office podcast. Helps you do your best work.
Fundraisers abound. I know this. So I will keep this short. I'm celebrating the work of the late great Jessica Morris who set up OurBrainBank for Glioblastoma whilst she was battling and then dying from it because it needs to turn - she she put it "from terminal to treatable. Terminal to treatable. Think on that. The most deadly brain cancer must be beaten. And it can be. Jessica believed this and I do too. This weekend is the third anniversary of her death and thanks to her family, especially her husband Ed Pilkington and her children Felix B. Pilkington Tess Pilkington and Emma Pilkington who have all swung into action on her behalf, and thanks to colleagues at OBB including Kelli Duprey Martha Wilkie Simon Matthews Jake Arnold-Forster Andy Coulson and Fiona Thorne. And, I hope you. Because if you can help me complete the final third of my fundraiser on the third anniversary that would be, well wonderful. And if you can repost this to say you have done, well, even better. Thank you not from my brain but my heart. ❤️ #ourbrainbank #gliobastoma #jessicamorris

DONATE in a way that suits you. 2 in 5 Canadians in their life will get Cancer. Help us bring a world where everybody lives longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer. Small amounts add up. Every dollar matters. But when you make a regular donation, even if it’s a small amount, your impact builds up over time to help more people like Carlos. Help save more lives, like Mei Ling. Your donations support thousands of researchers, clinicians and nurses to transform how to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, bringing hope to millions of people like Mei-Ling, now and in the future. Hope grows when you give to those in need. Your generosity not only provides nourishment, but is also the first step towards programs and services that transform lives. Help break the cycle. Give today. Your generosity creates practical steps toward a hopeful tomorrow. Thank you. https://lnkd.in/g8TNiJWN www.ecfweb.org

#100skipsadaychallenge for #cancerresearchuk 🌟 I did it for 5 days! 🌟 Unfortunately, on Day 6, I was admitted to hospital for a day with a painful Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) crisis due to physical overexertion. I tried in various ways, but it was just too much. I haven't been able to recover properly, so I'll have to call it a day this time. But there's a positive side! 🌈 🔹 A few years ago, a similar thing happened when I started Aqua fitness. Now, I have my weekly AquaZumba class, and sometimes I even do 3 classes a week! Listen to your body and respect it. There will be better times for such challenges, and if this one isn't for me, there will be others! 🔹 I still managed to raise £54! 💷 £50 can pay for restriction enzymes, helping scientists learn more about the genes that cause cancer. Thank you to everyone who contributed with money, support, or in any other way. 🙏 Why did I do this if my focus is Sickle Cell and not cancer? 🤔 Besides losing several relatives, including my mother, to cancer, and seeing many friends battle it, there is a strong bond between SCD and cancer through medication, haematology consultants, care, and so many other aspects... Sickle cell has a long way to go, but we wouldn't be where we are without cancer research. As a patient advocate, research is essential to finding alternatives to better manage our disease, improve our quality of life, and eventually find a cure. #SickleCellAwareness #CancerResearch #PatientAdvocate #StayStrong #ListenToYourBody #ThankYou #Fundraising #ResearchMatters 🌟💪💜

Have a read of the post below and if you can, please support Tony Collier BEM and his effort to raise some cash for Tackle Prostate Cancer
On 1st May I had a knee replacement having been unable to do weight bearing exercise since August 2023. I started back doing gentle walk/run two months ago with the aim of running a 5km parkrun on 30th November and at the same time raise some £5,000 for Tackle Prostate Cancer to fund the settin up of two new support groups. It’s been way tougher than I ever imagined. 12 months of no weight bearing exercise has massively taken its toll and my cardio vascular fitness is non existent! Throw in the disruption of a house move that hasn’t helped. However, very slowly building back up. It really is very slow but I’ll get there. Read all about the challenge here https://lnkd.in/eHAgakmR And this is the JustGiving link https://lnkd.in/egHdXTQz all donations gratefully received and make the lives of men living with prostate cancer and their families better!
