A big challenge for events that mix the expo feel with lots of content is ensuring that attendees visit vendors and sponsors. Here's what we're doing for SBE... (1) We have dedicated time in the morning and the afternoon at Small Business Expo for attendees to "walk the floor" at Wurlitzer Events and visit with our vendors. No content going on at those times, at all. (2) We've asked all of our vendors to make their tables "experiential." Meaning, no sitting behind your table on your phone with pamphlets and pens. We want everyone - attendees AND vendors - to have a great experience at the Expo, and you should hear some of the ideas we're seeing already. (3) THE BIG REVEAL... For the first time we're announcing our "game" to get people to vendor tables. It's simple, really... The attendee who leaves the event with the most SWAG, wins the big prize. Easy, right? You just go to every table, steal the promotional items, and don't talk to anyone. Here's the twist, though.... Random vendors will have "secret" SWAG, that you can only get by talking with them. Even if you get everything you can see, you're not winning. Go talk to people! If you're in WNY, and your audience is #smallbusiness, you're not going to be able to beat $200 for a vendor table at our all-day event. Get in now, because table locations throughout Wurlitzer are first-come, first-served. As we gear up to exhibit at SuperCorr 2024, we're sharing our 5 tips to maximize your tradeshow experience: 1. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞: Develop a plan for each day, taking the time to review the list of exhibitors, sessions, and speakers. Identify which booths to visit, which sessions to attend, and any networking events you want to participate in. This will help you manage your time effectively. 2. 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲: Challenge your comfort zone and aim to engage in conversations with other attendees, exhibitors, and speakers. Exchange business cards and follow up with new contacts after the event. When attending demos or sessions, ask questions and seek to understand; even if it doesn't align with your company goals, gaining a new friend or knowledge outside of your realm is still valuable. 3. 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲: Use the event app to stay organized and informed. Connect with others on LinkedIn right away if you tend to lose business cards. Utilize notetaking apps on your phone to help you remember important conversations or new ideas. 4. 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝗕𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝟭𝟲𝟳𝟲: for an exclusive demo with our packaging expert, Seth McNally, and our CEO, Andrew Barrieau. 5. 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦: Review your notes, brochures, and business cards. Create actionable items right away and begin reconnecting with the contacts you've made. Register at 🔗: https://lnkd.in/gyeS_9t6

Unpopular opinion: Do you think convention swag is a waste of money? I’m at #INBOUND24, and after walking through the expo these past few days, I couldn’t help but notice all the vendors with their $25K+ booths. That’s before factoring in the cost of flying in employees, covering hotels, meals, and all the giveaways—tote bags, branded socks, and t-shirts that, let’s be honest, no one’s really going to wear. And do you ever take any of it home with you? I saw a vendor giving away a mountain of branded items, and I couldn't help but wonder if it’s all just going to end up in the trash. From my perspective, vendors would see a better ROI by putting that budget toward a curated experience—something like a happy hour, dinner, or even a suite at a baseball game. Studies show that experiences create lasting memories and connections. Or maybe just get direct—give attendees $20 for their email and phone number. What do you think? Are traditional expo booths still worth it, or is there a better way to connect with your audience?

Conferences, meetings, and trade shows are all part of your corporate events program. However, making a lasting connection at those sorts of events can be tough. Attendees are beset on all sides by various booths and vendors, all vying for attention. So, when someone pops into your booth or interacts with your team, you want to make an impression. In addition to connecting with potential clients through conversation, a great parting gift of branded merch can go a long way! Plus, it's great for team building, too. While the "Rock Your Hart Out" event by HPN Global has officially concluded, we wanted to re-share this awesome interview with Brien Arone and Harold Batiste - two people who work hard to make this unique customer appreciation event a success. "Rock Your Hart Out is this ultimate, high-touch experience that's memorable," Harold Batiste says. "It's not just an event; it's a feeling that people remember." "I didn't want this to be another normal industry event," Brien Arone says. "This had to be something outside our comfort zone." This year, pc/nametag provided the team with our "Snap Passes," which featured a snap-off portion of the badge to be used as a raffle ticket. 🎫 Attendees also enjoyed a concert by Justin Timberlake. Our team has enjoyed seeing the innovative ideas and lasting memories that have resulted from the Rock Your Hart Out event over the years. ➡ A big thank-you to Jess O'Dell, who worked with Brien to make 2024's event interactive and engaging for everyone who attended. 💖🤘 ➡ If you're an event professional, make sure to follow our page so you can continue to see fun video clips, tips, and tricks like this from us. ➡ Want the Snap Pass for your event? Exciting news! 🌟 I'm thrilled to announce that the waitlist for Hampshire Meet The Buyer 2025 is now open! From 2017-2019, I created this premium event to support SMEs in accessing large corporate buyers, councils, and education providers to enhance business growth and development opportunities. Turns out it was a smash hit. In the last few weeks, many people have been asking me if the event is coming back, and if Little Kanga Ltd gets the interest, then I would love to deliver this again for you in 2025 as a hybrid event, which will mean that you can attend online or in person (buyers only available at the physical event location). In light of upcoming UK government changes and the election, economic growth poses a significant challenge. Business leaders seek events focused on knowledge-sharing rather than sales pitches, and Hampshire Meet The Buyer delivers exactly that. Our event caters to business developers looking for quality leads and conversions, while offering C-Suite executives a platform to enhance leadership skills and promote sales agendas. An all day event with lunch included, we aim to make you feel included and comfortable with our events having a high level of service and a personal touch to ensure your needs are met. We back this with our 100% money back guarantee and in 3 years, we have not refunded anything as everyone has been exceptionally happy with the event. Interested in joining us at the Utilita Bowl at the Hilton in Southampton in 2025? Express your interest, whether as a participant, sponsor, or attendee, by completing the waitlist form. If we proceed, the event's theme will revolve around "Technology and Innovation - How it can help SMEs to grow and bridge the digital skills gap." Calling on buyers, councils, and education institutions too! We welcome your participation to enhance procurement processes and supply chain connectivity. Don't miss out on this opportunity for growth and innovation! Follow our LinkedIn page for updates and secure your spot on the waitlist by clicking the link below to complete our quick form: https://lnkd.in/e_5VsXJg We have already secured our media sponsor, so if you want to be involved, then be quick as we always sell out in advance of making the event public online. #HampshireMeetTheBuyer #BusinessDevelopment #Innovation #SMEs #Networking #TechInnovation #Procurement #SupplyChain #business #Hampshire

Yes, competition is high and your ROI isn't great. The window to attract attention is so small. Eye contact? Quick hook to draw people in? Planners, exhibitors, and attendees are frustrated. Vendors/Exhibitors: Why do you still have bowls of candy, pens, and a stack of business cards on your table? Planners: Can you think of innovative ways to energize your attendees and satisfy investors? Attendees: Do you really save all the swag you pick up? I recently had a conversation with a consultant who is a sole business owner about business growth and changing their approach to events. Attend? Exhibit? Sponsor? So many options. But what would work for her? While she understood the value of events as an exhibitor, it's tough for them to see the ROI when you're competing with flashy activations. She also knew that being in the room was better than sitting around at home. Here are a few ideas we talked about: - Mini Coffee stations - Get fit morning meetup - Affirmation & gratitude wall What other ideas could benefit everyone and get us away from the "that's how we've always done things" mantra ?
