My friends and I completed the 7.5k Memory Run yesterday to raise funds for Australians living with dementia. Dementia Australia This cause is especially meaningful to us, and we've raised 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 $4,500 so far. Just taking a few moments to reflex and remember how lucky we are. thanks Jess Mackenzie Please share, like, comment and generally support f this resonates or if you can, support doesn't always equate to money... I am Jess from Alzheimer’s Society, and my role title is the Community Fundraiser for Cheshire. In a nutshell this means that I am a charity best friend for anyone fundraising for Alzheimer’s Society, be it a corporate, a group or association or an individual. Now… as many of you may know Alzheimer’s Society is a massive charity, however my goal is to help others understand that we are more local than you would think, and this starts by making people aware of myself and that I live in Cheshire working on the ground to support my supporters in anyway that I can.    Overview on Alzheimer’s Society: At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives, and we do this by giving help to those living with dementia today and providing hope for the future. Our next face to face event (and the final one for this year) is happening on Sunday 17th November at 10am near Tunbridge Wells, Kent. It's a fantastic Chocolate workshop (some of our volunteers have done it before and it really is brilliant). It is for children with JIA and their siblings (children need to be aged 5+ to take part) and parents/carers will be staying to watch and chat. We know that having a condition like JIA can be isolating so events like these are really important for children and young people to know they aren't alone and for parents/carers to connect too. On a path of growth and impact!

Our next face-to-face is happening on Sunday 17th November at 10am in Kent. For children with JIA aged 5+ (siblings aged 5+ are welcome too), we have arranged an incredible Chocolate Workshop near Tunbridge Wells. Places for this 2 hour workshop are usually £35 per child but thanks to a grant we have received, we are able to offer subsidised spaces at £5 per child. (Please don't let finances be the reason that you don't attend - so please let Katherine know in confidence if finances are an issue.) To request a space, please email [email protected] with the names and ages of your children, your address, and parent/carer details who will be attending. Katherine will then be in touch with further details. Please note that spaces are limited so please let Katherine know ASAP if you'd like to attend.
