Are rising travel costs and inefficient procurement systems slowing your business down? But what if you could turn these challenges into opportunities? That’s exactly what Groupe Adeo, a global leader in home improvement retail, did by partnering with HRS. With rising travel costs, fragmented procurement, and low program adoption, they knew they needed a smarter way to manage their corporate travel. The solution came through partnering with HRS. By implementing a smarter, centralized travel management system, they achieved remarkable results: 👉 6.5% cost avoidance compared to public rates—helping them make smarter, more cost-effective decisions. 👉 Program adoption increased from 34% to 84%—creating a system employees actually want to use, boosting engagement and simplifying processes. 👉 10% reduction in CO2 emissions per room night—aligning sustainability with efficiency. 👉 98% Virtual Credit Card (VCC) acceptance—streamlining payments and improving compliance. But it’s not just about the numbers. The real transformation was how Groupe Adeo was able to align their procurement, sustainability goals, and employee satisfaction—all through a more efficient travel program. What could this mean for your company? If you're dealing with similar challenges, there’s a smarter way forward. check out the full case study on how Groupe Adeo achieved these game-changing results with HRS. 👉 Read the full case study here: https://lnkd.in/dyshW8nQ

Transforming Corporate Travel: Turning Cost Control, Compliance, and Sustainability into Strategic Advantage For many organizations, travel management has become a strategic lever, balancing efficiency, cost, sustainability, and employee experience. Yet companies face persistent challenges: rising costs, fragmented procurement structures, and increasing expectations around sustainability. Addressing these issues is essential to unlocking the full potential of a corporate travel program. Corporate travel costs are rising steadily, with global spending projected to exceed pre-pandemic levels. Decentralized processes frequently lead to inefficiencies, undermining both compliance and savings. Meanwhile, sustainability has moved from a “nice-to-have” to a core business expectation, with stakeholders increasingly seeking measurable reductions in carbon emissions. A successful travel program also relies on employee engagement; policies need to be clear, accessible, and aligned with user needs to encourage full adoption. Groupe Adeo’s partnership with HRS offers a powerful example of how companies can address these complex issues head-on. By focusing on financial savings, sustainability, and compliance, Groupe Adeo achieved measurable results that highlight the potential of a well-executed travel program: ➡️6.5% Cost Avoidance: Through HRS’s data-driven approach, Groupe Adeo achieved significant savings compared to public rates, allowing resources to be reinvested into other strategic areas. ➡️Boosting Adoption from 34% to 84%: An intuitive system increased employee engagement, making compliance straightforward and accessible. ➡️Reducing CO₂ Emissions by 10% per Room Night: This achievement demonstrated that sustainability and cost-efficiency can go hand-in-hand. ➡️Achieving 98% Virtual Credit Card Acceptance: Groupe Adeo’s compliant, streamlined payment process ensured smooth travel experiences across decentralized markets. For companies ready to rethink their travel programs, Groupe Adeo’s approach with HRS provides valuable insights and a practical framework for turning travel management into a strategic advantage that meets today’s business demands. Travel Manager Time Status - It’s Complicated At the GBTA | Europe conference today there was a panel of buyers discussing the travel program of 2030. Many topics were discussed- supplier collaboration, duty of care, cost savings, distribution, experience, ESG. I could list even more. This made me remember survey results from ITM | Institute of Travel Management where they tracked the time spent by travel managers. The pie chart speaks for itself. It’s complicated and extensive. I feel for travel managers having so many responsibilities to manage while showing how this all of this drives value for the business. I know some are doing it really well, kudos to you 👏 Is this representative of what the travel manager role looks like now? Is it hard to envision 2030 because the operational demands just take so much time?

Travel Managers Unite! 33% of travel manager’s time is spent managing suppliers, including their TMC! According to a survey conducted by the ITM | Institute of Travel Management, Travel Managers spend 22% of their time managing suppliers and 10% of their time managing TMC relationships (see the full breakdown in the image below) With a 1/3 of this time taken up, it leaves little space for strategy. In fact, only 9% of time is dedicated to strategy, and only 2% on key industry focus areas like sustainability and stakeholder management. We know how thinly spread Travel Managers are, often weighed down by the operational. But we’ve seen with our clients that when they do get the strategy space, some amazing things happen. Our Macroscope 2.0 report called out the trend that Travel Managers can Take the Lead or Be Directed. And at FESTIVE ROAD we are all about helping you to champion change and create better! https://lnkd.in/eGk49FjS Travel Managers: Let us know your thoughts! Do you agree with the time split? Are you trying to find more time for strategy? And huge thanks to Natalie Gardner Gemma K.
