Why are so many HR tech solutions built for compliance, not connection? In her recent article, Applaud’s Director of People, Annabel Joseph, highlights a hard truth: HR tech often lags behind, offering tools designed for administration rather than employee experience. AI offers an incredible opportunity to change this—by automating routine tasks, reducing information overload, and making HR a true enabler of business goals. But let’s be clear: AI alone won’t fix broken HR practices. It’s about using AI thoughtfully, with a focus on what truly empowers people. Think seamless onboarding, personalized development journeys, and clear career progression—all delivered with the ease and engagement employees expect. If HR tech is as polished and user-friendly as the tools we give customers, then HR teams can focus less on firefighting and more on shaping a dynamic, resilient workforce. Been mulling this over for a few days. It’s still a good question! My gut says CTO/CIO (which the article assumes you would say.. you should read it before commenting). As AI agents improve, we might see a transition where maybe HR should take over, but I don’t think we’re there yet. Additionally, understanding the conflicts between different AI systems tends to also understanding the source data and why their goals differ. Ie, in the scenario posed by the article between AI customer service agent and AI software engineer causing end goal tensions, what is the underlying reason for that tension? And that reason tends to not be “human” in the typical sense, but likely due to information in the vector store (in RAG solutions) tracking down the source of that tension is likely going to be better suited for tech instead of HR… at least for now.
A very good question. Who should be managing AI employees? HR team or CTO team? What you all think? #GenAI #FutureofWork #humanaicollaboration https://lnkd.in/g7xKzj63
