If there’s a hack in Mobile App Marketing, it’s app icon optimization due to its impact on performance campaigns: 1. App icons are key in ad placements, prominently featured in formats like Google App Campaigns. 2. A well-optimized icon driving higher CVR (Conversion Rate) not only drives more raw installs in the stores but also enhances Quality Scores (Relevance Score for Meta) across platforms like Google and Meta. 3. Quality score is a variable in the auction influenced by CVR; therefore, improvements in store CVR enhance your competitiveness in these platform auctions. So when A/B testing an app icon, after a strong win, a good tip is to check your paid media performance, as it might be impacted.

What is the most crucial part of Mobile App Marketing? I would say attribution. - Attribution is 40% of App marketing. - Creatives is 30%. - The rest—Channel planning, Campaign structuring, Bids and budgets, Optimization, and all others—is 30%. Why? Because knowledge about attribution is scarce. Let me give you an example. Search for "How SKAN works?" in Google. Most of the top results will be from SaaS brands trying to sell their service if you run app acquisition campaigns. Even after reading the top 10 results, you will return to the same question. "How does SKAN work?" Can't it be taught easily? It can be, and so is the Mobile App attribution, App Growth planning, Channel strategy, and Optimization. Last but not least, how to build an app lift study. Putting them all together in just a 10-hour live course was challenging. Hence, I have combined them with case studies and pre-reading, in-class and post-class assignments, and many more. Tried to collate whatever I have learned and know about App Marketing as part of this course. Check it out here.
