5 years ago, I walked out of Toyota to build something of my own.  Now, I am already building AutoSmart with 25+ team members. I was happy at Toyota (Abdul Latif Jameel). It’s one of those workplaces that many dream of. But I felt a pull towards entrepreneurship that I couldn’t ignore. Hence I left my job. No, that doesn't mean you should too. Here’s what you need to keep in mind before leaving or switching from your current place: 1️⃣ Know Your “Why” Understand the motivation behind your desire to leave. Is it for growth, passion, or frustration? A clear purpose will guide your decisions. 2️⃣ Check Your Financial Readiness Entrepreneurship often means uncertainty. Ensure you have a financial cushion to support yourself during the initial stages of your venture. 3️⃣ Assess Your Support System Surround yourself with mentors, friends, and family who believe in your vision. Their support can make a significant difference during challenging times. 4️⃣ Test the Waters Before making a permanent leap, consider starting your venture as a side project. This allows you to gauge your commitment and market response without the pressure of full-time demands. 5️⃣ Understand the Sacrifices Entrepreneurship is rewarding but also requires sacrifices in time and energy. Be ready to invest yourself fully, knowing that the journey can be demanding. Leaving a stable job is a deeply personal decision and should be approached thoughtfully. For me, it was the right choice, and I’m grateful for the journey. Whatever path you choose, trust yourself and stay true to your vision.

When I left Toyota, I didn’t know exactly how the journey would unfold, but I knew one thing for sure - I wasn’t alone. Ejaz, my co-founder, has been by my side every step of the way, sharing the vision, the sacrifices, and the wins. Together, we've built something we’re both deeply proud of. To my amazing team of 25+ - you are the heart of AutoSmart. We’ve built this together, and I couldn’t have asked for a better group to share this dream with. Thank you for believing, working, and growing alongside me :)

I can relate to this deeply. When I left my job, I didn't know the next 100 steps, but I knew the next 10. And that was enough. Naseef
