Today we are celebrating a client starting their dream job at Meta ❤️ When we started working together, the problem they wanted to solve was to "not sound junior" based on feedback they received. They had difficulty structuring their interview responses to highlight their achievements and impact effectively, at the right level. Because they work on highly technical products, they needed guidance on how to explain their work in more strategic ways to interviewers who are not as technical. Emotion wise, they needed strategies to present themselves more confidently during interviews after failing the Meta interview before. Based on their problems, the way we solved it was crafting and practicing their responses to highlight their achievements and impact, rather than just focusing on execution and technical details. We also worked on confidence building and shifting their mindset for interviews, including meditating and healing together to get their vibes up when they were feeling low. Looking back on our journey, I am so excited for them, not just because of their dream Meta role, but because of all the inner work and healing that I've been able to provide the support for and witness. ❤️ ~~~ I help Product leaders get their dream roles in Big Tech. Embracing Change and Growth 🌱 Three weeks ago, I made a bold decision to leave Meta without having another job lined up. It was a leap into the unknown, driven by a deep need for change and a desire to prioritise myself and my personal growth. It was a scary move, but sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone to find new opportunities for learning and growth. The journey to finding a new role was not without its challenges. I encountered some challenging experiences with recruiters and companies: getting to the final rounds only to be ghosted, not receiving feedback after multiple rounds, and discovering that positions had been filled weeks ago without any communication. While I understand that recruiters might not always provide personalised feedback, hearing nothing at all is truly unacceptable as candidates put so much work into the recruitment process. I'm sure we all have our battle scars from interview processes. However, perseverance pays off! I'm delighted to share that I have secured a new role with a company that fits exactly what I was looking for. I had a fantastic interview experience and felt truly valued throughout the process, which has me incredibly excited to start on Monday. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Watch this space for updates on my new adventure! 🚀 #CareerChange #NewBeginnings #PersonalGrowth #ExcitedForTheFuture

Unfortunately, my journey in interviewing with Meta has ended this time. After passing the screening and recruiter interview, I couldn't clear the first round. I'm sharing a few lessons for anyone preparing for BigTech interviews, and for myself in the future: 1) Start preparing early. Even if you have extensive experience in interviews, the BigTech format is unique and challenging. A week wasn't enough for me—next time, I'll allocate at least a month. 2) Practice in real conditions. It's crucial not only to learn theory but also to practice live, ideally with someone else, using real case studies and timing yourself. I focused too much on solving cases in writing using Miro, which added stress during my first "live" interview. 3) Understand and embody the company's specifics. BigTech companies like Meta have unique aspects that need to be internalized. Sometimes, real experience can work against you. Meta, for example, has a strong focus on its mission of building community. When solving a case for an ad product, I automatically thought about monetization, but I should have paid more attention to the social mission. 4) Practice in English. If English isn't your first language, spend time on practice. Losing focus for even a few seconds to recall words is a luxury you can't afford. Best of luck to everyone preparing for interviews! 🔥 #InterviewTips #BigTech #ProductManagement #CareerGrowth #JobSearch 🚀

🌟 Celebrating 4 Years at Meta 🌟 Reflecting on my journey, from a moment of uncertainty to finding my stride at Meta, has been a challenging experience. In 2018, I encountered skepticism and self-doubt, with doubts lingering about my professional worth. Despite these challenges, I persevered, channeling my passion for social media into relentless self-improvement. Transitioning from self-doubt to determination, I seized the opportunity at Meta, embracing every learning opportunity and defying odds to secure a role as a contractor. Amidst uncertainties, I remained steadfast, leveraging my dedication and drive to ultimately join Meta's ranks as a Full-time Employee in March 2020. Throughout this journey, I've grappled with Impostor Syndrome. I choose to express my journey openly to inspire others by illustrating the complexities of the path to self-belief. By revealing the challenges I've faced, I aim to offer solace to those navigating similar struggles, underscoring the importance of having a supportive presence during moments of doubt even if you are not a new hire anymore. It is a reminder that even those who appear strong may have endured their own battles. As a culture ambassador, mentor, and friend, I've cultivated a culture of compassion and empowerment, recognizing the value in uplifting others. Meta has not only provided professional fulfillment but also introduced me to lifelong friendships and the opportunity to relocate to Austin, a journey for which I'm profoundly grateful. In life's ebb and flow, we inevitably find ourselves in need of support, underscoring the significance of surveying the corners of our existence. It is paramount to discern if someone amidst us grapples with self-doubt, beckoning us to extend our hand and stand steadfast in their corner, offering solace and fortitude. Extending a compassionate hand in such moments not only fosters a culture of empathy but also serves as a beacon of support amidst the tumult of uncertainty. I stay grounded in gratitude and I am driven by a commitment to improve others' well-being and to inspire growth and authenticity while always surveying the corners, ready to extend my hand. I believe in the power of stories to help others.

#Meta #RecruiterJourney #CareerAdventure #JobExpectations #RecruitmentInsights Hey there, everyone! 👋 I just landed a role as a short-term recruiter at Meta, and I’m really excited about it! 🎉 It’s a full-time gig for a year, and I’m eager to dive into this new adventure. But, I have a few questions swirling in my mind about what to expect as I start this journey. 🤔 Here are some specific areas I’d love your insights on: Work Hours: What’s the typical daily schedule look like? Are there flexible hours, or is it more traditional? Internal Competition: How competitive is the environment among recruiters? Are we all working together, or is there a push to outperform one another? Target Numbers: What kind of metrics or targets should I be aiming for? It would be nice to have a benchmark to gauge my progress! I get that it can be daunting jumping into a position at a big company like Meta, and I wonder if these potential pain points are common within the recruiting world. Why do th... In August 2017, all my PRs were getting tons of pushback, nitpicking, never-ending discussions. In September 2017, all my PRs were getting accepted with positive comments. So what happened? Did I do anything different? Did I change in any way? No! I realised I was not in the right environment for me so I changed the environment. I left that company and joined Meta. This post is a kind reminder for everyone who feels they're not in the right environment. Interview, network, up-skill and do everything in your power to leave drama behind. Your future self will be thanking you! #meta #growth

How I landed a role at Meta 👇🏼 Application 1: Post college, Cold applied to 6+ roles on the website + rejected without an interview Application 2: Post 1st layoff, Referred to 3 positions + rejected without an interview Application 3: While I was in my 2nd role, A past coworker reached out for an opening in her department, she referred me and I landed the interview and was hired In most cases, first time is 𝙣𝙤𝙩 the charm. It can feel discouraging to get rejection after rejection, but the reality is that landing a new role is a combination of skill set and timing. There was only a 3 year gap between the first application and starting my role. While I was discouraged by the first rejection, I spent that time building up my skill set and my network so when the opportunity finally came to interview, I was ready. Luck favors the prepared, and the more time you invest in yourself the more opportunities you may find arising. #JobHuntLikeARecruiter
