If you're unaware of this, your prospecting efforts might be useless! Ever had the experience of reaching out to multiple individuals within your company's target audience, only to find none of them seemingly interested enough to respond? Your approach may not be the best, but let's leave that detail for another post; today I want to talk about focusing on the ideal customer. The Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) is a much more accurate target than the Target Audience, as it focuses on the most profitable and satisfied customer. If your company lacks a defined ICP, a great approach involves examining your happiest and most successful existing clients and than ask yourself: * What common traits do they share? * What obstacles did they encounter before discovering our solution? * What scale of enterprises do they represent that are more inclined to engage with us? You may discover that your ideal customer is not on LinkedIn but uses social media instead, so it's not even worth spending your energy prospecting here; you should look for your customers where they are, through the channel they use most. With that in mind, your prospecting will be more assertive, and you will have a greater chance of response. If you don't get a response at first, don't give up because, in the next few days, I'll be sharing the best ways to approach market leaders for responses on the first try.
