According to projections from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and Lightcast, in the next ten years, the tech workforce will grow twice as fast as the overall U.S. workforce. The loosening of the labor market for tech related occupations is quite dramatic, especially relative to other professional occupations. I don’t think it is because of a slowdown in sales for the companies employing these workers. It is because of weaker demand for these workers despite solid economic growth.
