Why is it important to choose ECO friendly products? When creating our products, we focus not only on high product quality but also on nurturing sustainable practices. Our collection of MULATE organic chocolate is made exclusively from cocoa, sugar, and other raw materials grown in ecologically friendly farms. The activities of such farms are strictly monitored by the relevant institutions to ensure that the products are grown in a way that preserves nature and its resources. By choosing products marked with an ECO label, we can be sure that they are free from pesticides, herbicides, or chemical fertilizers, allowing us to enjoy more natural and healthier products. By participating in the events organized by the CHOOSE EU project, we often discuss the advantages of organic products in order to increase public awareness of environmental issues and their importance. 🌱 Wondering about the buzz around organic cotton vs. conventional cotton? Let's break it down! 🌾 Organic cotton is grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers, making it environmentally friendly and safer for farmers. On the other hand, conventional cotton relies heavily on chemicals that can harm the ecosystem and human health. 💡 Here's the difference in a nutshell: Organic cotton promotes sustainable farming practices. Conventional cotton often involves the extensive use of pesticides and fertilizers. Organic cotton is gentler on the environment and promotes biodiversity. I'm excited to share that I had the opportunity to contribute to the writing and publication of a review on antimicrobial compounds extracted from agri-food waste. It's been a rewarding experience to collaborate on this project and contribute to advancing knowledge in this important area. #AgriFood #Sustainability #AntimicrobialResearch #CircularEconomy IPCB-CNR

☕ An interesting study by the Italian research center ENEA on the economic and environmental #sustainability of the disposal of the so-called #silverskin, the main organic waste from #coffee roasting. 🥯 The study applied #LCA methodology demonstrating that coffee roasting #waste can become a high value-added ingredient in baked goods. And this reuse would allow a 73% reduction in the environmental impact of processing. At the same time, it would halve disposal costs for companies. 👍 To date, companies involved in coffee roasting have the obligation to transform the silverskin produced into compost. And it is also a very good material for health: it is in fact rich in fiber (35%), protein (19%) and antioxidants. 🔎 However, this product is considered as a novel food, thus requiring the European Commission’s approval for its use in commercial food according to Regulation (EU) 2015/2283, to guarantee safety requirements for the protection of human health. 👉 Link to the study by ENEA: https://lnkd.in/enQKf9rD See the article by Circular Economy Network https://lnkd.in/en2-KkUM #circulareconomy Circular Economy Network ENEA

Awareness of the planet we live on is growing every day🌎. Organic. Bio. Fair Trade. Zero-Residue. Consumers are constantly demanding not only eco-friendly products but also improved practices that make supply chains more sustainable. Unfortunately, shipping fresh produce over long distances can be a challenge. Fruits often spoil and a significant portion is wasted before consumption. NAT4Bio🍋 is developing solutions to this problem. By developing zero residue and edible coatings that protect fruits and vegetables from spoilage and decay, we are reducing the reliance on synthetic pesticides and plastic-based waxes. #Coatings #Sustainable #Natural #Consumers
