To help you get started, here are my top 5 tips: 🏀 Play the game: Consumers will expect discounts during these retail periods. If you don't have any promotional offers, there is a large chance you'll lose current and future customers to competitors. ⏰ Prioritise urgency: Use countdown timers and limited-time offers to create a sense of urgency and increase your conversion rate. Trust me, FOMO is real. ✉ Build your email list: Tease with leads campaigns and get customers to sign up to receive a discount code, exclusive access or all the information in their inbox. Don't wait, start this as early as October if you haven't already. 📣 Leverage social media ads: Hubspot recently released that 1 in 4 social media users bought a product they discovered via social media in the last 3 months. According to Google's own data, it's from today that your customers are going to move away from generic searches to being more brand-led. But what does this mean for you? - Many customers are done researching and have shortlisted where they are shopping in the next few weeks. You have a few days to launch Black Friday messaging across your marketing channels or it's too late. - Customers want to see what offers you're going to have next week, or at least what items are going to be in your sale. With no visibility, they're going to shop elsewhere. - If you have been running awareness campaigns or increased spend in recent weeks to capture browsers, now is when you'll start to see this pay off. - They're coming to your site now, but won't buy until the deals are live. Are you capturing these customer's email addresses to send them a reminder? Are you running retargeting to remind and re-engage with them? What follow up mechanisms have you got in place? - When customers do hold off from buying between now and your deals going live, will you take action to compensate against briefly reducing conversion rates to ensure you are still competitive for the buying frenzy?
