Thought I would do a ‘roundup’ of what we’ve been up to at FITAIN this month. I like reading other founder’s posts like this, so I'm doing my own! October was a really busy month for the team. As we are bootstrapped and self funded we also juggle our work on FITAIN around our other full time jobs as a Design Agency. Luckily we have some great clients and always some interesting projects on the go. Here’s what we’ve added and developed in FITAIN… Make it more social ✅ Ability to tag where you did your exercise and workouts ✅ Added the option to ‘find’ local gyms ✅ You can now say which gyms you train at (and for professionals which you work at) ✅ Made it easy to find fitness professionals that work at your gym ✅ Set up crowdsourced info about each gym (what’s is good for, what equipment does it have) Added 16k UK and 85k US gyms into the app that can now be ‘found’ Our aim is to get more gyms involved with FITAIN, and get the members who go to the gyms talking and training together. These are the first steps towards that. NOTE: We charge nothing for gyms to be found on FITAIN, it’s entirely FREE to be listed! Created relationships with affiliates and sports specific discounts ✅ Joined the great avelon affiliate network for sports specific brands. Thanks to Andrew Richardson for getting us onboard. ✅ Joined Endurance Zone to be able to offer exclusive discounts to gyms that use the platform. Thanks to Mark Williams for the recommendation and Tim Fulford for getting us onboarded. Made FITIAN 5% better (our aim each month!) ✅ Fixed bugs users have found (no-ones perfect!) ✅ Made small incremental improvements (e.g. complete button on quick log) ✅ Added signposting (after speaking to users we had features they had no ideas about!) ✅ Sped up duplicating programs so that users can get training faster If you haven’t already, give FITAIN a try. It’s free and if you want to try the premium version with extra features DM me for a discount code.

There are SOOOO many gym owners who have either shut off ads completely or are seeing demoralizing results… No show rates are as high as 80+% Many of the people that show up are… how shall we put it kindly… on more of a homeless budget. But the problem is that everyone, and every damn marketing company, is still running the SAME playbook. Everyone is running the same one or plays… and those plays aren’t working in 2024. That’s why I’ve put in massive work inside my gyms to crack the code on next gen marketing… And tomorrow-Thursday 6/20 I will be hosting a live training on: Why most paid ad campaigns aren’t working now & when you need to shut them off What PAID ad campaigns are working in 2024 What ORGANIC (aka FREE) ad campaigns working in 2024 When: TOMORROW Thursday 6/20 Time: 3:00pm EST/ 12:00pm PST Where: https://lnkd.in/g6CyJRk8 What’s more, like always, we’ll be sharing SOCIAL PROOF: Brandon Dell’Ollio going 11 for 11 selling new memberships in 12 days. This isn’t speculation or theory guys. So bring any and all your questions because, like always, I’ll be staying on after to coach you through any and all roadblock you may have in your business. If you can’t make it live, just respond to this with “REPLAY” and I’ll send you the recording) 😃 P.S. If you're a brand new member to our Gym Owner Freedom Group, welcome to the party! We typically host a special group livestream training every Thursday around lead generation, sales psychology, & client acquisition for gym and fitness business owners. I’ll see you tomorrow, Legends! Scott Carpenter-PTL Team

Ep.3 - With SPECIAL GUEST Ellie Wright! Why Every Brand Could Learn from HealthTech and Fitness Companies 🚴♂️ Last month Ellie convinced me to sign up to do 50 miles for Maggie's Centres, we’re down the last few miles so we decided to take a run together through central London via The North Face, Vivo Barefoot and Peloton Interactive whilst Mr Mike Bayly is off enjoying some miles of his own in Norway. Highlights: 🏃♀️ Engagement Lessons: Brands like Garmin and Runna are great at connecting with their audience. As a newbie runner, getting set up on these apps is super easy and accessible. The key with these apps is they’re not selling a tracker - they’re selling a social media which helps you grow. 🤝 The Give-and-Take of Community Marketing: If you're tapping into community-driven marketing, it’s about giving as much as you get. Successful products are those built with, and continually developed for, the community at their core. 🔗 Smart Partnerships Enhance Consumer Appreciation: The collaborations between fitness and WellnessTech brands are standout - you don’t feel like you’re being sold, but more like you’re being exposed to new brands which you might be interested in. For me it was Le Col. Take the challenges on Strava, for instance, where participating can unlock special offers and promotions. It's the kind of value-added partnership consumers truly appreciate. 💪 Believe in Your Product, Not in Lock-ins: Look at Barry's and 1Rebel, who offer introductory deals rather than locking customers into lengthy memberships. Their approach? Win customers over by the inherent value of their offerings, not through contractual bindings. 🌐 Strava: A New Kind of Social Network: Strava has become my favourite social media platform. Living staying connected, sharing progress, and building community with people I care about. It’s a different kind of communication - it’s almost passive. Plus, love being able to add photos of my run (and a pint) at the end!

📢 Celebrating Two Incredible Years! 🎉 Two years ago, I embarked on an incredible journey by opening my gym, and it has been an amazing experience filled with growth, challenges, and countless memories. I am immensely grateful for the support of my dedicated members who made this journey unforgettable. I am excited to share that, in addition to continuing my work at the gym, I will be gradually building up a client base with my new Business Peak Oxygen Analytics. This new venture allows me to further my passion for health and wellness in innovative ways. Acting as a third party visiting gyms and sports teams with our VO2 Max and Metabolism testing service. Why Now? I have invested in three state-of-the-art VO2 max machines, enabling us to offer fast turnaround times on data and the ability to travel to your location. This not only makes the process more efficient for your operations but also ensures that you receive the most accurate data to enhance your training programs. Why Gyms? Investing in VO2 max testing equipment can be financially daunting for many gyms. Additionally, there is a significant learning curve associated with using this technology, which can be a great opportunity for upskilling staff but may not be practical for all facilities. By partnering with Peak Oxygen Analytics, gyms can offer their members top-tier VO2 max testing without the initial financial burden and operational complexities. Why Sports Teams? For sports teams, VO2 max testing provides critical insights into the cardiovascular fitness and endurance of athletes. This data can level up designing your training regimens that will maximise performance. Teams can identify individuals strengths and weaknesses, allowing for targeted improvements and strategic planning versus using generic heart rate zones equations etc. Benefits for Customers and Gyms For customers, VO2 max testing can reignite their passion for training by providing them with precise data to improve their health and fitness. This can lead to better member retention as clients see tangible progress and results. Moreover, gyms can leverage these testing services to create new upsell opportunities, enhancing their overall value proposition. Looking forward venturing out of Nottingham and meeting new people! As I already have a few bookings up in Stoke-On-Trent and Leeds📍🧬 Thank you for being part of this journey. Here's to new beginnings and continued growth! 🚀 peakoxygen.co.uk

I realised its 26 years since I started on a graduate scheme with Spirit Health and Fitness after leaving Uni. It got ne thinking, what do we do better as a fitness industry now than we did 26 years ago? If you were to take an honest apprasial of where we are at, would you say we are better than in 1998 There are of course some great new tech available, some fabulous developments in equipment amd club design but are we better. Before you jump for the pom poms and start chearleading "of course we are" lets take a look ✅️ The percentage of participation has hardly risen. 1, maybe 2 percent at best ✅️ The number of employed staff in clubs has dropped significantly with clubs relying heavily on freelance PT's, reducing gym isntructors and front of house teams ✅️ Membership prices have dropped due to budget clubs. in 20 years these should have gone up with inflation. Profit levels therfore take a hit ✅️ We still have not got a grip with the attrition challenge ✅️ How many clubs could accurately show their clients results and progress ✅️ With all the great tech available, how much is actually intergrated into the clubs operations and client journeys. Myzone and body analysis maybe but what else? ✅️ The large majority of clubs don't offer inductions or support ✅️ The quality of staff training is not what it was. ✅️ Do we use the vast data available to us with some brilliant crm solutions There are of course some amazing example of tech use, service delivery, success tracking etc. There are also some great examples in marketing with the use of social media and video. As an industry as a whole though, have we actually moved forward considering our goal apart from making a profit should be to inspire people to be healthier and to provide a fun and engaging way to do it. With all the call for the fitness industry to be seen as an almost essential service and a key delivery mechanism for helping improve the health of the nation How have we moved on to make that claim. I do love the industry we all work in? I would love to hear your thoughts though on how we are better now than we used to be

🌟 Gratitude for a Remarkable Chapter at Holistic Fitness Club 🌟 Working alongside Ed at Holistic Fitness Club was an enriching experience that's significantly shaped my professional path. It's been just over a year since I started working with Ed, though my commitment to University meant our collaboration had to end, the skills and insights I gained during the time continue to resonate with me. My role: 🚀 Social Media Mastery: Led the club's social media strategy, significantly boosting engagement and community growth. The challenge of creating content that truly speaks to the audience was both rewarding and enlightening. 💻 Website Creation: Built the Holistic Fitness Club's website , turning it into a welcoming online hub for both existing members and those curious about embracing a holistic approach to fitness. 💡 Advertising Artistry: Crafted a variety of advertising pieces that captured the heart of holistic fitness, attracting a wide array of new members and enriching the vibrant community. The skills I acquired and the connections I made have left a lasting impression on my career journey. I have attached an example of the infographic which I would send to Ed each month showing the progression of his social media.

😮 Let me take you back three years ago to when I launched Gymfluencers, the idea I had, how it failed and how I pivoted to ensure it became a success and is still around today.... First of all peak that logo... I didn't hate it but I wanted something 'forever'... make sure to check out the new one on Gymfluencers.com. 👉 The original idea: A website that offered news, reviews, discount codes and most importantly a gym sign up referral system. Gyms would convert from members posts/stories, members would earn a commission and new sign ups would get a discount code... WHY? Because for the first time I went to the gym. For 12 months straight, lost 15 stone and learned more about it all. I saw PT's with no clients, gyms dying and everything going wrong. I wanted more people to experience my love for the place and to knock down barriers to entry such as cost. The issue? Money, time, staff. I didn't have enough and coming slap bang out of covid gyms were racing to the bottom and shutting down. I couldn't keep up with the changes. 🤔 So what did I do? Doubled down on the rest of it. News, reviews, interviews, macro calculator, coach listings, free gym passes, membership offers, discount codes, sports event calendar, videos, giveaways and more. Luckily it worked. This then expanded into 12 different countries all with their own unique version of Gymfluencers.com... UK, US to the likes of Saudi Arabia and Japan!!! 👉 It continued. Brands wanted influencers so we began middle-manning deals. Then just 16 months ago we split the businesses to what is now Gymfluencers.com and Gymfluencers.agency. We've worked with hundreds of brands and went on to launch Dogfluencers, Foodiefluencers, Travelfluencers, Beautyfluencers and SOCO Dubai. Everything comes back to 3 key things to why... 1. To add and provide value. 2. To cut out of the fuss. 3. Passion. 👀 I am so glad I kept on pushing and pivoted. There is nothing I could ever imagine doing that would make me happier than I am now.

Gym Owners, Did You Know That 80% of Gyms Make Less Than $6,000 Monthly? Poor planning, lack of marketing, or even inadequate member engagement can all prevent gym owners from generating enough revenue to thrive. But here’s the good news: after extensive research, I’ve identified the top reasons gyms struggle financially — and for aspiring gym owners, here’s how you can avoid these pitfalls when launching your own fitness facility: 1- Weak Online Presence Without a strong digital marketing strategy, gyms miss out on connecting with potential clients. Relying solely on word-of-mouth isn’t enough to drive sustainable growth. 2- No Unique Offers Many gyms fail to create compelling promotions that attract potential members. Without standout offers, converting leads into paying clients becomes a challenge. 3- Poor Member Retention Focusing only on acquiring new members while neglecting existing ones leads to high churn rates. Successful gyms prioritize engagement and community-building to keep members happy. Ready to turn your gym into a profitable venture? DM me "Growth," and I’ll show you how we help gym owners build successful businesses from the ground up!

I was once the gym newbie who struggled to complete even a single set. Today, I run a copywriting agency, and I owe a lot of my success to the discipline and resilience I learned from those days. So, what's the driving force behind our work at Copy Converter? It's not just about crafting compelling words or boosting sales figures. It's about transformation. Just like the gym, where every rep, every drop of sweat, all of our effort leads to a stronger, better you, our work aims to transform businesses, especially gyms. We know gym owners face unique challenges: → Attracting new members → Retaining loyal clients → Communicating the value of fitness These aren't just business hurdles; they're opportunities for growth and impact. When we write for gym owners, we think about the single parent looking for a community, the young professional needing to get away from, stressful environments, and the retiree wanting to stay active. Each word we craft is a step towards helping gyms be more than just a place to exercise. We want them to be a haven for transformation. We're working towards a future where every gym owner can: ↳ Attract the right members with ease ↳ Retain clients who feel genuinely valued ↳ Communicate their unique value effortlessly Our goal isn't just to write copy that sells but to write copy that resonates, inspires, and brings people through your doors. So, if you're a gym owner facing the daily grind, remember this: you're not alone. We're in this with you, every step, every word, every transformation. What's your driving force? Share your story. Let's inspire each other.
