The digital ecosystem is in a state of flux (no kidding, right?) Looking at the wider ecosystem... I don’t think the model per se is broken, but rather, our view of it is. We expect that a click from an informational query will suddenly (and to an extent magically) result in the user being placed in “the funnel.” And therein lies the issue. Resonance. We need to be far more concerned with resonance than we currently are (which I very scientifically estimate to be at about 0 level of concern). As for SEO, I LOVE the focus the industry has been giving to brand marketing. The bells have been rung and now I think is the time for more discussion on what a focus on brand actually means and looks like.
