Always leading the way…what a great conference for those in attendance. My hope is they come back to their lives and implement some of the great ideas and practices that were shared with them to help others follow their passion, succeed and pay it forward. As part of our continued #WomensHistoryMonth celebrations, let's take a look back at our Financial Literacy Workshop for Women, which brought together over 60 women and non-binary entrepreneurs in New York City this past January. Participants gained actionable tools and insights from experts in finance and hospitality and practiced their own business pitches with the support of their peers. Attendees even enjoyed delicious food and drinks along the way—including wines from proud sponsor of our Women's Leadership Programs and women-led winery, Markham Vineyards.

We must bridge the gap between generations to empower diverse leadership styles! 🚀🚀 Therefore, we are proud to announce our newly established Executive Advisory Board, a powerhouse of leaders dedicated to shaping the future of leadership diversity and contributing to our mission of increasing cognitive diversity in top management.🌟 “With this advisory board, we have created an important strategic foundation that enables us to grow and advocate for the challenges we face—especially when it comes to engaging the younger generation. By bringing together top leaders and young talents, we will foster commitment to rethinking the leadership models of the future, ones that the next generation can identify with,” says Maria Anker Andersen, Founder of Female Leadership Academy. Why is this critical?! 🌍 Only 15% of CEOs in Denmark are women, and fewer than one in five board positions are held by women. As Brian Mikkelsen rightly notes: “We need to change the structures that have held women back from leadership positions for far too long. This is not just about equality, but about creating the best conditions for future businesses and society as a whole. With this advisory board, we will ensure that the Female Leadership Academy gets the necessary resources and strategic input to promote more female leaders and create a more diverse leadership landscape in Danish business. Our goal is clear: we want to see more diversity in leadership.” Meet our Executive Advisory Board members: ⭐️ Brian Mikkelsen – CEO, Dansk Erhverv & Board Member ⭐️ Mette Louise Kaagaard – CEO, Microsoft Denmark & Iceland ⭐️ Britta Korre Stenholt – CEO, STARK Denmark & Board Member ⭐️ Ida Bratting Kongsted – CEO, The Danish Management Society ⭐️ Jan Simonsen – Country General Manager, Salesforce Denmark ⭐️ Gertie Find Laerkholm – Managing Partner, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) Denmark With their guidance, we are more committed than ever to nurturing a new generation of leaders and ensuring that leadership roles reflect the rich diversity of today’s world. As National Co-op Month kicks off, it’s crucial to emphasize the importance and strength of the locally owned and operated ag retail network. Many of agriculture’s biggest challenges can be tackled through collaboration that capitalizes on our system’s collective strength and our owners’ local leadership. That’s at the heart of what #cooperatives are all about.

Part two of our Women of the Vine and Spirits Leadership Webinar is coming up tomorrow, June 4th, at 4 PM! Part one with Blair Woodall and Pamela Wyatt Ashcraft was a smash hit, especially for new brand owners. We heard from 21 different companies that wished they had known this stuff when they first started! In case you missed it, Part 1 covered all things packaging: ✅ Understanding the rules (and how to break them the right way) for eye-catching spirits bottles ✅ Making your bottle shine on the shelf at the store ✅ Designing a bottle that's easy for bartenders to use (which means more pours for you!) Don't worry if you missed it – you can still catch the recording in the WOTVS Resource Library. But mark your calendars for June 4th at 4PM for Part 2! Blair and Pamela are powerhouses of information! This is your chance to learn from the best. #SpiritsPackaging #SpiritsIndustry #PackagingIndustry #WOTVS

In my journey, I've found that women often shine as exceptional leaders more often. Back in 2018, Arielle Knutson and Kristyn "Ashley" Smith, two extraordinary leaders from Nuun Hydration's marketing team, came to me with a vision to tackle a significant cultural gap. They observed that women in sports were underserved and lacking the spotlight they deserved. Their proposal? Create a community where women felt safe, inspired, and recognized in the world of sports. And then NUUNESS was born. Here's what I learned from these leaders: 1. VISION of Impact: - They didn't just see a gap; they envisioned a powerful community that would benefit both women and the business. It was a vision with a purpose that delivered for all stakeholders. 2. PRAGMATIC Approach: - Beyond envisioning a robust platform, they meticulously addressed risks and concerns, ensuring that nuuness became a lasting community, fostering mutual growth and support. 3. INCLUSIVE Leadership: - They brought voices from outside the "core" into the community. I was invited to a nuuness retreat panel with Alysia Montaño and Steph Corker, giving me a profound experience as the only male in a room filled with strong and insightful women. 4. ACT BIG with RESOURCEFULNESS: - Despite significant aspirations, resources weren't infinite. They strategically leveraged existing connections within our orbit, bringing in the brilliant minds like Stacy T. Sims, PhD, Kristen Holmes, and Emma Coburn, who shared their beliefs, desires, and expertise. In short, I just want to shine a spotlight on the many women that created an environment and impact that I benefited from immensely. I'm forever grateful. 🌟 - post by Kevin Rutherford: CEO Culture First Leadership #WomenLeaders #InternationalWomensDay #cultureFIRSTleadership

Connections. It was such fun to spend a little time with Darius Mirshahzadeh on his podcast, the Greatness Machine. I met Darius a year or so ago when following up on a reference. I had so much fun talking to him and learning his story. Like me, Darius is a proud, high growth CEO who is obsessed with culture and purpose. 🚀 He's also a serial entrepreneur having founded and scaled a "tech-enabled" mortgage business from 30 to over 1000 people, and successfully exiting to go on and start more uber successful endeavors. On his website, he says he's all about the "P's: Passion, Pizza, Puzzles, and especially Pink Unicorns." No wonder I instantly felt like he got me - I am also passionate about puzzles and fancy myself a pink unicorn. It was extra sweet to chat with a like-minded leader who thinks purpose is the #1 ingredient for success at work and in life. Take a listen and let me know what you think. Also, check out his other Podcasts, which are awesome, and read his book (which is in my stack for 2024) called The Core Value Equation: A Framework to Drive Results, Create Limitless scale and Win the War for Talent. Thanks for having me, Darius (and love the cartoon me in the pic below ❤️ )! Let's keep in touch. 😍 #DrinkMilos #BrewingALegacy
