Game Situation Score: 0-0 Inning: 3rd Outs: 2 Bases Occupied: 1st and 3rd Hitter: 8 Name: Jake Rogers Data: Batting AVG .197 After working the count to 3-0. Jake Rogers and the Detroit Tigers had the opportunity to pass baton and grind out a walk. Usually that’s what an 8 Hitter will try to do. He’ll try to grind out a walk and pass the baton because he and his team doesn’t believe in his ability to make a positive impact by swinging the bat. Rogers is also followed by Trey Sweeney. Sweeney is a dangerous hitter who in a small sample size has hit Lefties better than Righties. Once again it would have been justifiable to pursue a walk. To their Credit, the Tigers decided to be aggressive and gave Jake Rogers the green light. Rogers obliged and hit a Poorly Located Sinker into Center Field. Valdez then made the same mistake to Trey Sweeney. The Detroit Tigers aren’t by any means an Offensive Juggernaut. They Rank 24th in Batting Average and 19th in Runs. But that Decision/Play is representative of how impactful Managers and Front Offices can be on Outcomes. Overall, I appreciate the Aggressive Approach. An Approach that puts pressure on the Opposition Manager, Pitcher, and Defense. I also like an Approach that puts pressure on your own players to take greater responsibility. One More Thing, the ability to Embed Effective Rules into a Game Model remains a low hanging fruit in baseball.

Brown who has been out with a hamstring injury. - Mekhi Becton Contract: The Eagles have signed former Jets first-round pick Mekhi Becton to a 1-year contract. Becton started 16 games in the 2023 season and is expected to contribute to the Eagles' offensive line. - Performance and Grades After a Quarter of the Season: The Eagles have a 2-2 record after the first four games, with mixed performances across different positions. Notably, the defensive line has underperformed with only six sacks, and the coaching staff has received a low grade due to questionable in-game decisions. - Injury Updates and Player Health: DeVonta Smith, who missed the Buccaneers game with a concussion, is expected to return after the bye week. The team also missed Lane Johnson in Week 4, highlighting the importance of these players to the team's performance. - Rookie Contributions: Rookie cornerback Quinyon Mitchell has shown promising performance, and there is consideration to play rookie Cooper DeJean over Avonte Maddox in the nickel spot due to Maddox's struggles. #FlyEaglesFly #PhiladelphiaEagles #EaglesNation #NFL #EaglesFootball #InjuryUpdates #NFLRookies #EaglesUpdates #NFLNews #GoBirds #EaglesFans #EaglesVsBrowns #NFLSeason #EaglesPride #BleedGreen #BirdGang

🏈 Tough Loss, but the Season's Far from Over 🌉 The 49ers suffered a heartbreaking 27-24 defeat to the Rams, marking their first loss of the season. Despite leading for much of the game, critical moments like a costly interception and a missed field goal proved decisive. QB Brock Purdy showed flashes of brilliance, but the offense stalled in the fourth quarter when it mattered most. The defense, while strong at times, couldn't contain the Rams' offense in crucial situations. This loss is a setback, but it also highlights areas for improvement. Consistency and the ability to close out games will be key as the 49ers move forward. What are your thoughts on the game? What do the 49ers need to work on for the rest of the season? 🏈 Fantasy Football Alert! 🏈 Looking to stay atop the work office pool? Here's another set of waiver wire picks to give your team the edge: - Bucky Irving (RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - If you're a Rachaad White owner listen up...his hold on the backfield might be coming to an end. Irving saw an uptick in usage in week three and could be on his way to a RBBC in Tampa Bay. - Cole Kmet (TE, Chicago Bears) - Rookie QBs lean heavily on tight ends and Caleb Williams is no different after connecting with Kmet 10 times for 97 yards and a touchdown on Sunday. Kmet should continue to see a ton of the ball for the Bears. - Jauan Jennings (WR, San Francisco 49ers) - Jennings took advantage of his opportunity (unlike his teammate Ronnie Bell) and turned his WR2 week into an 11-catch, 175-yard, three-touchdown game. Depending on when Deebo returns to the lineup, he's a good FLEX play for the time being. - Carson Steele (RB, Kansas City Chiefs) - Last week was the week when Steele got picked up in most leagues but if he's still available, grab him and run. It's clear he'll see the majority of first and second down touches while Pacheco is on the IR, which means heavy production in Kansas City's offense. - JuJu Smith-Schuster: (WR, Kansas City Chiefs) - It's clear Rice is WR1 but JuJu has familiarity with Mahomes. Add in Kelce's drop-off and a WR room that lacks experience, Smith-Schuster could see his role grow going forward. I wouldn't pick him up yet but is one to watch, #FantasyFootball #WaiverWire #NFL #FantasySports #WinningStrategy

Bounce-back candidate: Ha-Seong Kim Ha-Seong Kim is a player I’d expect to produce better in 2025. He enjoyed three straight seasons of double-digit HR and SB. He’s a + defender (GG in '23 at 2B/SS/3B) with 9 OAA (95th %) in '23 and showed elite plate discipline in '24 with a 18.6 Chase %, 15.9 Whiff %, 16.4 K %, and 12.3 BB %. He is an above average runner between the basepaths and stole a combined 78 SB since joining the Padres in 2021, including 38 in 2023. His 5.8 WAR in ’23 was solid enough to obtain some NL MVP votes where he finished 14th. However from an offensive production standpoint in '24, it was a different story. His WAR was more than cut in half to 2.6 and his overall offensive output declined. His OPS+ went from 107 to 96. I expect Kim to bounce back in '25 where we potentially see an above average xwOBA (.308 wOBA in ’24) as it was higher than the mark he set in his breakout '23 campaign. In addition, Kim had the highest Hard-hit % of his career, up roughly 9%, to 35.4%. Although still considered below average, Kim has shown improvement and may be able to tap into some more PS power to hit 15+ HR with 25+ SB in '25. Kim was also unlucky at times, with a .261 BABIP. This number should likely increase considering another increase in Hard-hit % and the ability to get into more hitter’s counts. As a free agent, I think Kim signs a 4-year, $48M ($12M AAV) deal with the Seattle Mariners; a team that is in need of just about every infield position this winter. He'd provide defensive versatility with speed and an on-base threat at the top of the lineup in front of Julio Rodriguez. Kim could work his way back to becoming an All-Star caliber player following a torn labrum late last season and revitalize an impotent Mariners offense.

All Star Snubs??? Over the weekend, the reserves and pitchers were named for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game, which will be held July 16 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. The starters were named last week. As is the case every year, it’s disheartening to see deserving players left off the All-Star team, often referred to as ‘snubs.' One snub that stood out to me was the Arizona Diamondbacks First Baseman, Christian Walker, who left off the team. Walker is having an impressive season with 22 home runs and more than 60 RBIs and helped lead the DBacks to the World Series in 2023. Last week, the D-Backs were in LA to play the Dodgers, and Walker put on a clinic, much like he did in the ’23 playoffs, hitting five home runs in the three-game series. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts called him “Babe Ruth against us.” But apparently, the Babe wasn’t good enough. Part of the problem is that every team must have at least one all-star representative, a rule designed to ensure every team is represented, but which can sometimes leave one less slot for other deserving players. Ironically, this year’s NL All-Star manager is the D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo, Walker’s manager. But Lovullo clearly couldn’t pull the strings for one of his guys. As we mentioned earlier, this year’s team includes 19 players under the age of 27, but what about older players like Walker, now 33 and in his 10th MLB season? A shame. John Boxley Box-seats.com

The Indiana Pacers secured an impressive 132-123 victory over the Chicago Bulls in a thrilling matchup on Friday night, showcasing an electrifying display of offensive talent on both sides. The game was packed with back-and-forth scoring, keeping fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer. Ultimately, it was the Pacers who came out on top, improving their season record to 10-14. As for the Bulls, the loss brought their record to an identical 10-14, demonstrating just how closely matched these teams are. Tyrese Haliburton was the standout star for the Pacers, delivering a stellar performance that fueled his team’s offensive success. His ability to facilitate plays and knock down big shots proved instrumental in securing the win. On the other side, the Bulls fought valiantly, with their own offensive firepower on full display throughout the contest. Despite their efforts, they couldn’t keep pace in the final moments of the game. This high-scoring showdown highlighted the potential of two teams looking to find consistency and climb the standings. Both squads showed resilience and determination, but Friday night belonged to the Pacers, whose cohesive execution and poise down the stretch made the difference. As the NBA season progresses, performances like these remind us why basketball remains one of the most exciting sports to watch. Fans of both teams and basketball lovers alike will have this matchup etched into their memories as a prime example of competitive, entertaining play. #NBA #IndianaPacers #ChicagoBulls #BasketballHighlights #TyreseHaliburton #SportsUpdate #Basketball

The 2024 Chicago White Sox will have set a record this year for most losses during the regular season. It’s not a distinction the team or players want, but they are taking it in stride. Davis Martin, a pitcher on the team was recently quoted, “Baseball, he explained, isn’t like most sports. It is, he said, “a game of failure.” It’s a game of perpetual losing. You can drop nearly half your games and still be in first place. A hitter can go to the plate 10 times and lose seven of those battles — and he’s not a failure, he’s an All-Star.” When you think about life in the corporate world, it’s not hard to see the similarities. A baseball season and fiscal year will have its ups and downs, hot streaks and slumps, and much losing. Yes, even the best team in baseball will lose 60-65 games a year. It’s not much different in the corporate world- even with the best plans, you are inevitably taking losses. Each time you lose a sale, an initiative loses steam, or the dreaded re-org hits, you and your team will add a check in the loss column. But this is the important part- Like baseball, losses in corporate America are part of the game, not the reason for your team to stop trying to win tomorrow’s game. Connie Mack, the winningest manager in baseball history lost 3,940 games- that’s 200 more than he won! History still considers him the best baseball manager of all time. Remember Connie Mack and the next time your team takes a loss- It's not the end, it’s part of the game. Or as Connie Mack so eloquently said 80 years ago, “You can’t win them all.”
