We just received an email from Microsoft Advertising announcing that auto-generated assets (headlines and descriptions) will be enabled for our existing campaigns later this week. Who knows, maybe on Friday night 😅 Some of our clients are very sensitive to messaging, and this feature will likely optimize for CTR, whereas our current ad copy is more focused on conversions. We expect to see more clicks and higher costs, but probably not more conversions. We plan to opt out, but unfortunately, we have to wait until this feature is enabled before we can disable it 🙄 If you received a similar e-mail and plan to opt-out, here's how to do that: 1. From the navigation menu on the left, select Campaigns 2. Select the appropriate campaign 3. Select Settings 4. Clear the checkbox under Auto-generated assets for responsive search ads 5. Google will be rolling back the ability to opt out of the search partner network for Performance Max campaigns, which came about as a result of the Adalytics report. Rather than a blanket opt out, Google will be supply advertisers with the ability of applying placement exclusions. Additionally, if you exclude certain ad placements at the account level, it will now apply to the Search Partner Network, as well as YouTube and display ads, according to Search Engine Land (via Ad Age).
