Do you ever get #Stuck with intuitive eating? Do you wonder, "Am I even doing this right?" Here are three tips to get started... Are you eating enough? It can be so scary after years of dieting to actually INCREASE the amount of food you are eating, but you have to be eating enough to satisfy yourself every single day. 🍽️ 🍱 Are you eating enough VARIETY of food? You should focus on getting enough nutrient-dense foods. The foods that will support your health and wellness. Still, you also need foods that satisfy you emotionally, such as your favorite cookies and your favorite snack. If you ignore these foods entirely, at some point, you will have backlash eating or "F*ck-it eating," as some of my clients call it, when you encounter that food again. 🍰 🥞🧁 Learn the difference between physical hunger and appetite! Both of these things are ok, but if you're ever like, "I wasn't hungry, but someone mentioned carrot cake, and now I really want some!" That's appetite; that food sounds appetizing to you! Physical hunger is, I haven't eaten in 3 hours, and my tummy is grumbling! Both can be fine cues to eat! Just know the difference. 😊 #intuitiveeating #intuitiveeatingjourney #undiet #haes #foodfreedom #wellnesswithoutobsession #nofoodrules #foodjoy #allfoodsfit #healthyhabits #GenXWomen #millenialwomen #eldermillenials #HAES

Be careful when reading labels in grocery stores that say "healthy" or "nutritious". 👀🛒 When trying to switch to a healthier way of eating, your best options are those without packaging or natural whole foods like fruits, vegetables and lean meat. When going for healthier versions of processed foods, read labels carefully to see the ingredients. These common foods that are considered as "healthy" may contain high sugar disguised in words you may not understand. Go for products with lesser ingredients that are simpler and easier to read. Eat healthy! 😊 #healthyeating #readyourlabels #healthydiet #foodtips #lifehacks

What’s Really in Your Favorite Fast Food? Shocking Discoveries by Doctors We all know fast food isn't the healthiest choice, but do you know what’s really lurking in those meals? Doctors have uncovered some eye-opening ingredients that might make you think twice before your next drive-thru visit. For instance, those crispy golden fries? They’re often cooked in oils that contain trans fats—substances that can increase your bad cholesterol levels and even raise the risk of heart disease. That delicious burger patty? It might be packed with preservatives like sodium phosphate, which is linked to kidney damage if consumed in large amounts over time. And it doesn’t stop there. The “natural flavors” listed on many fast food items? They can be a blend of various chemicals designed to mimic the taste of real food, without actually being real food. Even those seemingly harmless buns may be hiding something. Many fast food chains use dough conditioners like azodicarbonamide, a chemical that’s also used in yoga mats. It’s not just about the calories—it’s about understanding what’s hiding beneath the surface. Knowing what you’re really eating empowers you to make better choices, for both your health and your peace of mind. 🍔🥤

One of the biggest things I’ve learned this past year is that there is so much more to food than just macros and calories. Food is here to be savoured and enjoyed, and just because we’re mindful of what we eat doesn’t mean it has to come with strict rules. All foods have a place in a balanced diet, even if you think they might be unhealthy. The foods we eat should support good health and help us thrive, but that doesn’t mean cutting out everything we love. It’s more about making small adjustments that add up, so you can enjoy your meals while still feeling your best. Some of my favourite swaps have been going for fresh sourdough or bakery bread instead of processed, homemade brownies with less sugar, and whipping up sauces for stir-fries at home so I can balance the flavours and ingredients. It’s all about keeping the taste but being mindful of what’s in the mix. When it comes to ordering in or going out for food, it is important to remember that those meals may be somewhat out of your control - and that is absolutely fine. You don’t need to control every single thing you eat. If you make smart choices most of the time and choose a majority of good options, then it is more than okay to just enjoy a meal for the taste and not worry about anything else. Food doesn't need to be stressful!

Eating better is expensive. That’s a lie. Many people assume that eating healthy means draining their wallets, and I understand their pain. I used to think that way too. While many people complain about the expense of healthy food, the average cost of their Zomato/ Swiggy cart is mostly double or triple that. Here are five methods that can help you maintain healthy eating while preventing your indulgence in junk food. 1. Whip up a batch of hearty vegetable soup that can last for several meals throughout the week. 2. Opt for budget-friendly protein sources like beans, lentils, and eggs to add satiety to your meals. 3. Get creative with leftovers by transforming them into delicious new dishes, like turning roasted vegetables into a colorful salad or incorporating last night's chicken into a stir-fry. 4. Stock up on frozen fruits and vegetables, which are often more affordable than fresh and just as nutritious. 5. Embrace simple, staple ingredients like rice, oats, and canned tuna, which can be used in a variety of nutritious and budget-friendly meals. Let's make healthy eating accessible to everyone.

Hey there, Think of this as a 'cheat meal'? Do you see this as 'unhealthy'? Ever feel like you've gone 'off track' after having it? If you nodded yes, let's talk about your relationship with food.. So, the whole 'cheat meal' thing – why does having, say, a pastry, pizza, or a burger, make you feel like you're messing up your diet? Shouldn't a balanced diet allow for all kinds of foods, not just the "healthy" stuff? Because, here's the deal: balance and restrictions don't really go together. We've made 'cheating' sound bad, and when we connect it with certain foods, it messes with our food relationship. If you have an occasional non nutritious meal, it won't wreck everything if you're mostly eating nutritious stuff. Just like having a super nutritious meal won't do much if the rest of your diet isn't great. Some meals might not be "super healthy", but they sure can bring joy and help you celebrate special moments. Giving in to those cravings is a way to keep a chill relationship with food, and that's good for your head too. Need help with you fat loss journey? DM the word "DONUT" to learn more about my program. #cheatmeal #weightloss #weightlosstips #sustainableweightloss

If you’re trying to lose weight … 📉 … but alway feel hungry 😩 … You need to make BETTER food choices! ✅ Despite eating healthy food like peanut butter & avocados, they’re also very high in calories. 🥜🥑😬 This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be eating these types of foods, but it does mean that you have to monitor HOW MUCH of them you are eating. 🍽️ So instead of eating lots of peanut butter, try to stick to just one serving, and fill the rest of your calories with lower calorie dense foods. ✔️ These include foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean sources of protein. 🥗🌾🍗 This will make your meal be a lot more balanced, while keeping you fuller for longer, making your fat loss endeavors EFFORTLESS! 💪🏻 Follow @cohnankotarski for more fat loss tips 🔥
