Another remarkable Fact of the Week for your Friday: In each individual month over the past three years, #EV sales increased significantly from the same month the year before. And each year's highest single-month sales increased, with 50,000 in 2021, 80,000 in 2022, and over 100,000 in 2023. If we go all the way back to pre-pandemic 2019 and look at how the market has performed since then, pure battery EV sales are up 385%, while gas vehicle sales are down 14%. Despite the pandemic, supply chain woes, production misses, and 2/3 of consumers having little to no EV experience, the EV market keeps zipping along. I'm excited to see what happens as production ramps, consumer awareness grows, tax credit confusion wanes, and federally-supported infrastructure gets deployed. Lots of work to do! Thank you to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) for the fact of the week and to CleanTechnica for the 2019-2023 sales analysis, details of which can be found here (https://lnkd.in/dysNYWqU), and Consumer Reports for their latest consumer survey found here (https://lnkd.in/d_4q5Vvv) #electricvehicles #evs #cars #transportation #climateaction #cleanenergygeneration

The US just passed Europe to become the second largest EV market in the world next to China. As the fake news and fosssil fuel propagandists try to convince you that EV sales are dropping the truth is that EV sales continue to grow. It is amazing how some sources misrepresent EV sales.

Somewhere in the world EV sales are slowing. Maybe it's Texas... or Tennessee. It doesn't really matter where people are captured by Big Oil / right wing propaganda. What's important is people are switching on a global scale and once you've owned an EV, the data shows you're unlikely to switch back. #electric #efficient #lower #repairs #cheaper #fuel #stronger #resale

The growth rate in EV sales is starting to flatten from the tremendous advances seen last year. As subsidies are reduced will prices come down enough to offset the loss of those credits? Will charging infrastructure advance fast enough to allow EV's to penetrate more markets that today remain the domain of ICE vehicles? These seem to be the questions driving the reduction in this years sales growth rate for EV's, which at double digits in most markets is still "rapid" growth, just not as fast as many had forecast.
