As summer approaches, road travel surges. A survey by The Vacationer shows 82% of Americans plan trips this year, with 75% opting for road trips. This increase means more service visits as drivers log extra miles. Service shops play a vital role in preparing motorists for long trips, especially regarding batteries and charging systems. Here are strategies to maximize this busy season. https://bit.ly/3Ki0b6z

How to attract customers with the Depositive service? One of the main obstacles for a tourist looking to rent a car is the deposit amount that needs to be frozen on a credit card. The primary issues include: ● Funds that could be used for the trip are tied up as a deposit. ● The customer only has a debit card or cash. Not to mention additional expenses that detain the customer at the rental office, fines, and bills that keep the deposit in a "frozen" state even after the tourist has returned home. How does Depositive solve these issues? ● We take on the responsibility of reimbursing expenses incurred during the rental period to the rental company. The customer has to pay a nominal commission fee for the service and can enjoy the use of the car without the need to freeze a deposit on their card. ● No credit card is required. ● In case of additional expenses, Depositive covers them and handles communication with the rental agency. ● The agreement with Depositive remains effective for 30 days after the end of the rental. If fines or additional expenses are received, the customer can pay them from home. As a result, rental accessibility increases, allowing more people to afford renting during their travels. The rental agency gains: ● a larger pool of interested customers, ● audience loyalty, ● Mitigation of risks associated with additional expenses, resolution of conflict situations without involving the rental agency. Depositive service is convenient and beneficial for all parties involved - join us now! #CarRental #RentACar #CarHire #DriveWithUs #ExploreWithUs #OnTheRoad #RoadTrip #AdventureAwaits #TravelInStyle #RideInComfort #ExploreNewHorizons #DriveSafe #Wanderlust #TravelGoals #EcoFriendlyRide

Recently came across an article that highlights some of the top car shipping destinations in the U.S., and it makes a bold assertion: certain cities simply offer the best landscape for vehicle carriers and buyers alike. Are you in agreement? Doesn’t it make sense that factors like market demand and logistics efficiency play a significant role in determining these hotspots? What do you think? Are there other cities you believe should have made the list? Let's discuss! https://lnkd.in/eS_RDkRW

If you thought last Sunday's boarding figures under the new upgraded Route 800 bus timetable were good, wait until you see yesterday's! Yesterday was the first Saturday of the improved service. The number of trips operated tripled, with waits cut from 60-120 min to 30-40 min. Operating hours were also extended. It was rainy most of the day with thunderstorms a possibility. However it was also the weekend after the Black Friday sales at Chadstone. 9 trips were ridden. There were up to 59 boardings, although 25 to 40 was more typical. Bus operations around Chadstone are a challenge at this time of year as there is no effective priority. This caused Route 903 to be diverted from going into the centre, with passengers required to change to a shuttle (or other bus) at Oakleigh. Some Route 800 trips were a beneficiary of this. Even ignoring the 'Chadstone effect' there were healthy boarding numbers on the portion between Dandenong and Oakleigh. Many were short trips. They simply wouldn't have been made under the old timetable with its 2 hour gaps. These are likely to endure all year. This illustrates the power of better transport service (any mode, not just bus) to induce travel. Transport planning is simply a matter of choosing what you want to induce and resourcing accordingly. Later and earlier trips will likely be quieter than those surveyed. But I think there is a good chance that this new timetable could quadruple weekend patronage based on what we've seen so far. A sixfold increase (ie elasticity of 1) is not inconceiveable but this is a volatile period for travel demand. Ask again in 6 months. George Konstantopoulos

Who’s going to pay $8 for a short commuter #bus ride? This could be the reality soon for #Christchurch/Canterbury residents (including myself), as to meet the government policy to decrease #publictransit #subsidization through increased fares and/or alternative revenue streams, which will likely mean fares in Canterbury will quadruple from $2 to $8. Article: https://lnkd.in/gN_9Dsmi I’ve discussed before that public transit for many is an elastic demand. People perceive these services as a certain value to them. Public transit desired to be decently affordable. As services get more expensive it, less people are willing to pay, instead choosing an alternative mode of transport. Typical bus trip distances in Canterbury are shorter than services for the outer suburbs, cities, and townships of Auckland and Greater Wellington, as well as buses which people perceive as lessor value than trains. $8 for a fare ($16 typical daily return trip) for in Christchurch is far too expensive for most bus trips and will trigger a negative elastic demand response, thus ridership will greatly decrease and lead to an even worse domino effect. Lower ridership means costs not shared across as many passengers. With the forced mandate to cover the costs of operations, the remaining riders may need to pay even more, creating a downwards spiral of fewer and fewer riders willing to pay more and more, becoming unfeasible to continue quickly. With fewer riders, and a way to lower costs is to reduce service frequency, but reducing frequency (especially on certain routes) can also lead to lower ridership, as it’s less convenient for people and potentially not operate at a time they need to travel. The transport minister said, “an increase in fares was necessary to tackle the rising cost of public transport, without putting more burden on ratepayers and taxpayers.” Most people who stop using public transit will likely switch to driving to commute. This will of course put more pressure on roads, increasing congestion, the amount of city space needed for road infrastructure/parking, vehicle emissions/pollutants, slowing commutes, and be a greater burden to all residents of Christchurch. Public transit should be seen as a major tool to reduce congestion, as well as more affordable and sustainable than trying and failing to reduce congestion by widening roads/building new ones, which only induces demand making things worse. I don’t think many drivers realize how much public transit users benefit them, as well as how much driving is also being subsidized. There may be room to increase fare a bit before greatly deceasing ridership, but not quadrupling it. Benefits of public transit often outweigh the subsidization and subsidization should cover difference the between upper limits of what the vast majority of people are willing to happily pay and the operating costs. #nz

"Why are you so cheap?" Our rates are fair and reasonable. Explained:- 1. Hackney taxis charge by the taxi meter with a Maximum Tariff set by the council, they can wait on taxi ranks for a fare, or be 'flagged down' on the streets i.e. blackcabs. The cost of convenience and availability is representative in their prices. They can charge less at their discretion with pre-agreed prices. 2. Private Hire Cars & Chauffeurs don't have meters and can only carry out pre-booked journeys arranged in advance. So they can charge whatever they feel the market can sustain according to supply & demand, competitive forces, lifestyle businesses, etcetera. Which encourages a free-market-economy, negates Price-fixing and cartels, offers consumer value and most importantly affordability to all social classes. 3. Electric Vehicles cost as little as 4p per mile, compared to running a petrol or diesel car typically 20p per mile. Which means cheaper taxi fares for you. 4. We've streamlined our business model from harnessing over 20 years of experience in the sector to adapt to the changing marketplace, refined policies and processes, reduced overheads and cut away unnecessary administration, archaic methods and old-fashioned ways to improve efficiency and become leaner - Uber-esque. Passing the savings realised directly back to you with competitive taxi fares. Resulting in improved productivity and lower operational costs, utilising disruptive innovations and remote technology. And oh.. did we mention T'is the season of Goodwill. It just wouldn't be fair or ethical to charge extra over the festive season of Christmas. No Surge Pricing - Same prices all year round. I used to get hit with airline overweight baggage fees — until I learned this secret to smart packing: As Americans, we’re used to buying in bulk. Costco is great when your home has storage space (plus who doesn’t love free samples?). But when you’re a long-term traveler, you’re forced to carry the bare minimum (especially if you only take a carry-on). Many people default to buying reusable travel containers at 3.4 ounces. But when you use several of them, that doesn’t help with your bag weight. Plus paying for bag fees is a luxury. I know many people who have to throw out their belongings at the airport, just to avoid those fees! The goal is to eliminate water weight wherever possible. Think about it. Your shampoo and conditioner are mostly filled with water, causing unnecessary weight and bulk. → Many shampoos and conditioners come in bars (they lather in the shower) → Get a combo face and body wash bar (a smart 2-in-1 solution) → Use a sunscreen stick Find products that do more in less space. When you’re traveling for long periods, every inch of your suitcase is prime real estate! You could lug around a big 2nd suitcase. But why add that extra burden and cost? -- Struggling to budget while traveling? I teach remote consultants to save hundreds of dollars so they can travel longer. RANT Looking at Anaconda Group Pty Ltd Delivery page it completely talked me out of purchasing a medium priced ($1000) bike. The caveats, cover-my-a$$ unfriendly tone is so offputting. Lack of clarity on delivery - "2-5 business days unless we are busy" - was the gist. Oh and if we try to deliver and you don't answer the door (or we can't be bothered getting out of the truck to see if you are home so we'll put a "not at home note" in the letter box) you can collect it from a depot. Which is the one I am ordering it from. Because I can't collect it in person. So it will just sit there? Whats the point? They are basically saying "ring us" to see if we will take care of you after we take care of ourselves. But you can't ring them - no number. And I can't use the form under "Contact Us" as I do not yet have a purchase order or club number. I think I'd rather buy from someone that doesn't do delivery and pay the hundred bucks to have it delivered in a suitable manner. But not #Anaconda. What do you think? Business as normal or poor customer service? UPDATE: I called Anaconda (number not on website but google maps had it) and they blamed Australia Post the bane of all small online businesses. Nightmare!

𝐈𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 30 𝐤𝐦 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥, 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬, "𝐒𝐢𝐫, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐮𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐝." This is Road Master for you. And sadly, this isn't the first time. I've had similar experiences before, where the bus was dropped an hour or two earlier. At least then, they had the decency to call or message to inform me of the change. But this time, they didn’t even bother. Here's the routine: Road Master operates 8 to 9 buses daily. If the number of passengers exceeds a certain limit, they run that bus. If not, they either reschedule or cancel it altogether. But if you're in the transportation business, you should understand that people using your service often have commitments they need to meet. You can’t just cancel a bus at the last moment due to operational inefficiency. I understand it’s not cost-effective to run a bus with only 4 to 5 passengers. But if that’s the case, then don’t operate 8 to 9 buses a day. Consolidate and run fewer buses. What’s not acceptable is that on a good day, you'll run all your buses, but on a slow day, you’ll cancel some. If you want your brand to be credible and reliable, and if you want a loyal customer base, you have to bear the cost of operating with fewer passengers sometimes. Otherwise, just operate fewer buses and forego profits on the busy days. But you can’t have it both ways. P.S.: I was going from Lahore to Multan after a month to see my family for just one day, and they very casually said, "Sir, you can take tomorrow's bus instead."
