Let's talk Oscars... But not just any Oscars – the night "Ken" stole the show and left us all in awe. Ryan Gosling's portrayal of Ken wasn't just about glitz and glamour – it was a lesson in commitment and execution. First up: 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Ryan didn't just waltz onto the stage; he owned it. His commitment to embodying the character was palpable, from his hot pink suit, perfectly-coiffed hair to his slick moves. Likewise, as business owners, committing wholeheartedly to our vision and goals is non-negotiable. It's about putting in the hard work, day in and day out, even when the going gets tough. Now, let's talk 𝐞𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. He didn't miss a beat – his performance was flawless from start to finish. That's the level of precision we should aim for in our businesses. Whether it's delivering top-notch products or services, meeting deadlines, or exceeding customer expectations, flawless execution sets us apart from the competition. But here's the kicker: 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒙𝒆𝒄𝒖𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒈𝒐 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅. Without one, the other falls flat. It's the unwavering commitment to excellence that drives impeccable execution, and vice versa. When we marry the two, magic happens. So, let's take a page out of “Ken's” playbook. Let's commit to our business vision with unwavering determination and execute our plans with precision and excellence. With commitment and execution as our guiding stars, we can dazzle our business audiences! 🌟💼 #BusinessSecrets #CommitmentAndExecution #KenAtTheOscars

I am known to leak a tear or two in a good acceptance speech or even a big red chair turn. There is something about going up and shooting your shot so publically, being prepared to be the gracious loser or the grateful, surprised winner. Last night was no exception. First, I watched an incredible group of women talk kindly about the Best Supporting Actress nominees. Seeing their obvious admiration as they spoke of other women, their kindness alone stirred a little emotion in me. But then, watching Da'Vine Joy Randolph's acceptance speech, I had to grab a Kleenex. The moments of raw vulnerability, the unscripted emotions, and the courage to stand on that stage and share a piece of oneself with the world move me. But it is also the work they put into getting there, the rejection, the critiquing, and the failure before the win that moves me. Even though we have never met, I can imagine the work it took to get to the big stage, and I am excited for them to experience this moment. To crush it in any field, you've got to be willing to put yourself out there, take risks, and bounce back from failure—whether you're on a big stage or just navigating everyday challenges. Don't give up too soon; your proverbial Oscar is waiting, and I'll save a tissue for the phone call with your big news. #oscars2024 #CareerSelfCare 💪🏻Strenghten Your Inner Game 🛗Elevate Leadership Effectiveness 🏎️Drive Results 🗣️Shape Your Career Narrative #DecisionsMatter #CountdownToSuccess #CareerGrowth 🗣️ Growth—whether in leadership or life—is an inside job. May the 4th be with you... Can you believe it's been 25 years since we met little Anakin Skywalker in Phantom Menace? Can you also believe it's been 25 years since Moira was learning her trade at BBC Worldwide? The publishing arm responsible for massive magazine brands like Radio Times, Top Gear & BBC Gardeners World. Flashback to 1999 and Moira was just beginning her career changing journey, working with huge brands like Renault, Boots and Unilever. When asked what her favourite memory was from those times, Moira said... "I feel like I grew up when I was at the BBC as I was young and living away from home, so all my colleagues felt like family - Paul Kombou, Sarah Akhust, Avril Murray, Lorna Ko. My favourite deal was and still is the deal we secured for Renault Scenic - Scenic Days out. It ran across several of our brands and was, at the time ground-breaking as it also included sponsored bumper ads on UKTV. This had never been done before and was the first time we worked in partnership with another media owner. It was the first Multi-Media campaign the BBC had run. The client chose us time and again as they loved the collaborative way we worked with them." Check out a photo of Moira and Lorna at an award night the year they were shortlisted for an award👇 #business #sales #salesconsultancy #consulting #growth #training #opportunity #leadership #management #personaldevelopment #strategy #success #maythe4th #maythe4thbewithyou

Is your personal brand getting hi-jacked? And are you contributing to it? Among all career advise there is one around building your (unique) brand. One of my leaders (who has had a great personal and professional journey) once told me 'I only want to create a strong positive influence on ten people around me, they are all that matter. I must be recognised by them for who I am and what I bring to the table.' Here is my take, after having seen and coached a diverse set of leaders across levels. Firstly, building a 'you' brand is a lifelong effort and not a one time effort, especially if we are in the business of sustaining a long career. 1. The brand promise must be the same as the product attributes, so trying to be someone else in our interactions and especially on social media only takes away from the brand. 2. Social media can be a loud and chaotic comparison engine. We often see what others want us to see, creating noise that impacts our judgment. Creating a desire for 'showing' attributes that are now really our own. Your genuine voice may die down. 3. Uniqueness in one's personal brand does not have to be over the top or necessarily recognised by others all the time. It can be quiet, focussed and recognised by the few who may really matter. 4. Public recognition does not translate to private 'real' career victories. Awards, citations, certifications are often created by marketeers to lure us into doing something that benefits them, and not necessarily us. Ask the question "Am I trying too hard to build a brand rather than investing in the underlying character-me?" For those interested in taking a tougher route to building the self and therefore the personal brand, here a long weekend watch. The road to character. https://lnkd.in/g_NRyZi7 #careers #personalbranding #leadoneself

Do you know anyone in your family, friends or neighbors who would buy a Used Vehicle without researching a Vehicle History Report? I do not know anyone who would buy without that knowledge today. The question is, "What is the Vehicle History Report worth against the asking price/trade or acquistion of that specific VIN numer?" Black Book #Disruptors, #Innovation, #Used Vehicles, #New Vehicles
Vehicle history doesn't have to be a mystery 🔎 For the first time, you can determine the true cost of specific VINs. Imagine looking at a 2017 vehicle with 20,000 miles — it could seem like a great buy, however…. Seeing the history of adjusted value, there might be a negative deduction of almost half the price of the vehicle because it was a salvage title vehicle. With history-adjusted valuations, you don't have to roll the dice on the true value of a vehicle. 🎧 Catch our latest episode of Leadership in the Dealership with host Paul Machin, U.S. and International Director of Strategic Accounts at Black Book, to hear more about history-adjusted valuations and more.
Vehicle history doesn't have to be a mystery.

What do leadership and Bon Jovi have in common? Turns out, a lot. I just finished watching the Bon Jovi documentary, "Thank You, Goodnight" on Hulu. As I watched the series, I was struck by how many leadership lessons stood out to me, and how Jon Bon Jovi led through it. Through rapid growth, fame, balancing work and family, making a decision to create his own management company, staying true to their roots and values while adapting to current trends, managing challenges and setbacks- just because it was a rock band, it was still leadership. These are the same themes that arise in executive coaching sessions. Perhaps the two things that most stood out to me was in the early 90s, 1) how JBJ brought in an equivalent of a team coach/therapist to help the band talk about team dynamics to continue their success and unearth anything unsaid and 2) managing Richie Sambora's sudden departure. How do you manage it publicly as it's unfolding, as well as "staff" it long term? And of course, the legacy component, as the band is in their 40th year together, and how values show up in enterprises such as JBJ Soul Kitchen. A drive for excellence, top performance, attention to craft, living into your values, vision, and treating your people well - this, too, translates to our corporate world. Yes, this girl who had big hair in the late 80s/early 90s and loved her some Bon Jovi learned a whole heck of a lot watching this. And pretty joyful and youth-reliving as well! #bonjovidoc #leadershiplessons #rockleadership #executivecoaching #teamdynamics #livinonaprayer
