Great day for our Homes England teams today with the Secretary of State making a number of announcements at the Convention of the North. We have argued that to achieve greatest impact and deliver transformative regeneration you must work with local leadership, in partnership, with a long-term plan, and to apply the right technical capacities and capabilities. We do this through a process of continuous engagement and not through bids. Today we saw the first outcomes of that approach with the £90m commitment to Blackpool and £67m commitment to Sheffield, both funded from our Brownfield Infrastructure and Land Fund, and both supported in their development by our technical teams of planners, surveyors, valuers, CPO specialists, economists and more, drawn from right across the Agency. Combined with commitments to Leeds, Barrow and Liverpool where our teams have been providing support, and further Devolution Deals with regions where we have already established or are establishing our Strategic Place Partnership model, it was a big day all round! Huge thanks to all our partners and to the various teams across Homes England who have contributed.
Fantastic development!
Nice work Michael. That’s testament to your tenacity. Really well done. It’ll make a huge difference to the lives of the folk in each of those places.
Excellent news!
Brilliant!

9moPleased to see this starting to come through Mike. Some great placemaking plans taking shape in these towns and cities, they definitely need sustained support from Government to ensure they come to fruition.
