I attended the Bluechip Data And AI Summit hosted by Bluechip Technologies The Exclusive Fireside Chat titled "Africa's Digital Leapfrog: Using Data and AI to Unlock Growth Potential" with Olumide Soyombo and Abubakar Suleiman reminds me of what's coming and what we at Droomwork believe in. We are building the infrastructure that would export Africa's Technological workforce at scale. Africa would have be the youngest workforce by 2050, its not too early to build the infrastructure, train the talents and also export them to the world. Kazeem Tewogbade introduced Bluechip Data Platform (BDP). AI agents are coming but you need BDP to store the billions of data events coming from these agents. #Data #thebluechipdataandaisummit2024

By analyzing tabular data containing socio-demographic and geographic information, we proposed a machine learning solution to predict Fiber To The Home (FTTH) internet uptake across various segments in Togo. The models, both accurate and generalizable, created under this project of the Ministère de l'Économie Numérique et de la Transformation Digitale, Togo, will help the government improve connectivity, allocate resources efficiently, and foster digital inclusivity. The competition was held on Zindi. After reviewing the winning solutions, my proposed method achieved the best private score, securing first place. 🚀 Have you ever wondered how much could Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) contribute to productivity of a nation? Gen AI has the potential to significantly impact a nation’s economy. 👩💻 According to new research from The Conference Board of Canada in partnership with MaRS Discovery District, if deployed correctly, ethically and responsibly, Generative AI could help reverse decades-long decline in productivity and "add almost 2 per cent to Canada’s GDP". This finding highlights the substantial economic benefits that can arise from effectively utilizing Generative AI. 🙏 On behalf of Vector Institute, I had the honor to be a part of the team which worked on this impact paper! 🔍 This comprehensive study delves into how generative AI could propel our productivity and economic landscape forward with smart #AIAdoption. Here are some key findings:-  1. Generative AI Adoption: A majority of start-ups surveyed were already using Gen AI (46 per cent) or exploring its implementation (38 per cent). These ventures recognize the potential of Gen AI to boost productivity and drive economic growth. 2. Impact on Headcount: Most businesses surveyed (63 per cent) were not planning to reduce headcount as a result of deploying Gen AI. Instead, they are adjusting how they work and the skills they’re hiring for. This suggests that Gen AI is seen as a tool to enhance existing processes rather than replace human workers. 3. Barriers to Adoption: Despite its potential benefits, several barriers hinder generative AI adoption. These include high costs, a lack of reliable training materials, concerns over data privacy and security, and uncertainty about how the technology will be regulated. 4. Talent and Expertise: Organizations recognize that technical expertise is crucial for successful integration of generative AI. While some firms reported challenges in finding talent, others believe that Gen AI can make employees more productive by automating routine tasks, freeing up time for new responsibilities. In summary, Gen AI holds promise for boosting productivity and contributing positively to the  economy.
