Little Update: Coming up to my 1 year anniversary of job search. Bit weird being in this position (bit of a hit to my self-esteem) but here are some things I learned: - Job market is rough and I won't take it personally - Stay positive...but also it's okay to be upset and discouraged time to time. - Be grateful for the time off. I rarely utilized my past PTO benefits so this has been a great time to rest and reset - No excuses to not workout and eat healthy - It will be tough to explain to my dog that we can't play all the time once I get a new a job. If anyone knows of any open positions (HR/Recruiting (RC), customer facing, CSM, AM, etc) or cool companies to keep an eye on feel free to let me know :) --- PS here is another picture of my dog, Cassie. #jobsearch #opentowork

#OpenToWork | A Year In, Still Focused on What Matters   It's been nearly a year since my time with AT&T came to an end, and this journey has brought challenges, almost-there moments, and unexpected growth. I’ve had some wins in this job search—getting through multiple interview rounds, receiving positive feedback—but no final offer yet. I won’t lie; it’s tough, and I’m feeling it.   At my core, I’m a customer advocate and problem solver. My career has always been about finding ways to improve experiences, make systems work better, and bring real value to customers. Now, I’m looking for a helping hand to connect me with the next opportunity where I can do what I do best: helping customers, colleagues, and teams overcome roadblocks and achieve great things. In March, my time at Quadrant came to an unexpected close as they let me know that they no longer had need of an in-house recruiting team. It was surprising to say the least but I am hoping that it’s just the universe nudging me to take on a new direction and challenge. I’ve had the last several weeks to enjoy a break after a chaotic 5 years helping to build early stage start-ups with great success. I’ve been able to get fresh air (hello allergies!), catch-up with old friends, and contemplate what’s next work wise. That last part, I don’t have a firm answer on, which is both exciting (and terrifying) and the reason why I’m writing this post. I’m open and ready to work. The short story of what I’m looking for is I want to contribute to companies having a big impact in their space; In whatever way that might be, I’m open. I’ve applied to recruitment, sales/business development, and project manager roles with equal excitement. I’ve been fortunate to learn a lot through my start-up experience and know I could contribute meaningfully in a variety of roles. I appreciate any and all leads sent my way & even more so the few bits of time taken to read through yet another #opentowork post.

Well, LinkedIn, I am back. I had a good 3-month run with a company where I truly felt I fit in well. Unfortunately, today I was laid off. This marks my second layoff within a year, and it’s been a challenging journey. During my time with the company, I had the opportunity to work with some amazing colleagues and contribute to meaningful projects. The experience has been invaluable, and I’m grateful for the skills and knowledge I’ve gained. However, facing another layoff has made me reflect on my career path. While I have a strong background in IT, I’m considering whether it’s time to explore new opportunities and perhaps even rethink my direction in the tech industry.
