During my (too short) couple years at #Meta before returning to #Google, I was really impressed by Meta engineering culture centred around Tribes/virtual teams, high IC autonomy, and a bias toward failing fast. I’m supporting a culture change effort that would benefit from learning more. Can anyone point me to material I can share about #Meta #Eng culture? (Edit: thanks everyone for the DMs with pointers to articles!)
Hi, Maurice! Gergely Orosz has an excellent newsletter I recommend. He did a series of articles deep diving into Meta engineering culture. Here's the first one: https://newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/facebook

7moSorry, not meta, but have you read the valve employee handbook? I always liked the idea that you could move your desk where you could be with the projects team, on your own, and join a cabal (not a great name, but this is an old handbook). https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/apps/valve/Valve_NewEmployeeHandbook.pdf
