Vodafone and Orange share the same RAN infrastructure for rural environments, utilizing all possible FR1 bands, including 3.5GHz (with massive MIMO). Notably, they have leveraged mMIMO to allow the full bandwidths of both operators to be transmitted without restrictions. To my knowledge, this is the first instance of deploying mid-band spectrum (which has relatively less coverage compared to low-band) with approximately 100MHz bandwidth using mMIMO radios, for rural deployment. It remains uncertain whether this approach has fully achieved the goal of reducing deployment costs in rural areas. #5g #ransharing #oran #mmimo #midband #ruraldeployment

Building the Networks of the Future - Today. Update from recently launched #5G #OpenRAN Network Paradise Mobile: - Using Mavenir's advanced Massive MIMO radios in a 64t64r configuration on C-band spectrum offering speeds comparable to some of the world's fastest 5G networks. Reaching 1 Gbit/s, and expectation of figures increasing up to 2 Gbit/s in the coming months. - Mavenir's implementation of beamforming is helping to significantly increase speeds for Paradise Mobile's customers. - Paradise Mobile developed an application programming interface (API) platform allowing third parties to develop applications for its network. - The operator aims to operate as a kind of external skunkworks operation for bigger companies that don't have the ability to set up a public, commercial network for such endeavors. Paradise Mobile CEO Sam Tabbara has a message for the global mobile market: Open RAN works. And it works well. More updates to come at #MWC24
